I took my daughters car for a mot last month, it needed some work that I could do at the cost of £200. The head gasket has now gone  :dl_smiley_banghead:. The local garage want £885 to sort it. :dl_smiley_banghead: :icon_exclaim:

Ref: I'm covid confused.

"Although deaths were tracking at the top of what would usually be expected, they remained within normal bounds. The figures suggest that people who would normally be expected to die of flu or pneumonia are instead dying from coronavirus"

Statistically interesting data from the ONS but hardly encouraging :groan:

yeah but, if the total numbers are the same then for every person who dies of Covid one less dies of   flu or pneumonia  ...either we have stopped/cured flu or pneumonia and associated deaths or covid is having little or no effect ???

Just in case you didn't know, anyone who dies of anything, this includes being run over by a bus..!!,  within 28days of being diagnosed with Covid-19, it's documented as a Covid-19 death.

And those die on day 30 when their ventilator is switched off aren't.
Neither is this chap: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-54597619

I do hope the death rate stays low over winter and we don't get back up to the horrid figures from earlier in the year.

It's a lot lower down here this time.
There was talk that cases from other areas were being moved here last time.
Sadly I think most of the elderly care homes aren't as full, hence lower numbers maybe?
Really hope 2021 kicks some serious covid backside

Herd immunity is a myth. Because the virus mutates. Just like ordinary flu does.

Plus, for herd immunity to work do you not need a vaccine?

I hear NASA has found water on the moon... Bloody useless "Hermes" can't deliver a parcel after three days of not being able to find the address despite having my phone number which they have failed to call and detailed directions to find my home. Useless absolutley useless  :dl_soapbox: :dl_soapbox: :dl_soapbox: :dl_soapbox: :dl_soapbox: :dl_soapbox: :dl_soapbox: :dl_soapbox: :dl_soapbox:
