If the seller doesn't make it right I will get a refund from Ebay. I had to do that a few years ago but on the downside it took 6 weeks or so to sort out. Meanwhile I have ordered a tap from a different company ( it was only ( £19.70) and if I end up with two of them then it's no big deal.
Today I collected the new fuel cap I ordered (Ebay click and collect from my local Argos). Looks as good as the OE at a fraction of the pricw just over £26.

The Ebay seller of the broken fuel tap sent a message " that the part must have been broken in transit and he is willing to give me a partial refund.
I replied : you accept the part was broken when delivered and therefore I expect a full refund. Please send to me a post paid returns label and refund my costs in full. ( I now await his response).
On the plus side regarding the DVLA double charging my road tax a few weeks ago They have returned the funds direct to my bank account. Which is a first for them and even their very helpful cucstomer adviser thought I would get a cheque. I hope this is an on going upgrade so that I don't have to go to the bank and stand in the weather to pay a cheque into an ATM.
Yes Yes I know smart phone banking  ... take a photo of the cheque blah blah blah. Have you been paying attention?? All this modern techie stuff is not for me. I can barely manage a cup  lately. 1st Feb now and that's half way to march and soon it'll be time to get my bikes out.

Fingers crossed the seller accepts the inevitable. It'll save you the hassle of getting eBay involved.
If it was broken in transit, then the seller should have packed it properly, "end of".

Out and about today and noticed no 5G on my phone . I spoke to O2. They said I have used all of my data allowance of 50Gb since 13th Jan. I said I have never used more than 5 in a month. A full  detailed bill will not be available until after 13th Feb.
I think it's my iphone. It would not do anything a wanted and instead did it's own thing eg switches to camera and then refuses to change to any other screen so I have to turn it off for ten minutes or so. want to make a phone call Naaaah! the screen would not switch to that. I gave up and swapped back to Samsung thing.   The print out they sent shows I used 9Gb on one day  and I did not go out at all.  ###

Your phone camera may have stuck itself on video mode and then been syncing to the cloud? Although if you were at home then I would expect the 9Gb to have gone via the WiFi?
I'm with you blaming the iPhone though ........ I just don't care for them. Android is much better in my opinion.

Have you enabled a camera shortcut and assigned it to a button you accidentally press whilst in your pocket?

No idea for the I Phone ...but my Samsung  A36 , it is a new ish one so may be different to yours .
settings,
connections ,
data usage,
mobile data usage ,
Scroll down and it shows how each app has used it's data .
May help to narrow it down . But don't expect much from the service provider ... :GRR:

I seem to remember you saying there was a lot of " stuff " on your I phone when you got it
It may have been compromised with malware and working in the backround .
If buying a second hand phone ALWAYS do a hard reset before setting up ...
But really , the price of cheap new phones these days that are perfectly capable , why ?
Yes you can get a better phone for the same money going used but a used one will run out of security updates sooner. I personally  would not use a phone that is used for anything sensitive  ( ie anything  shopping / banking related ) that hasn't got valid security updates. Top of the range , from both , will be typically 7 years , lower spec 3/4 years of updates from original release...NOT when you got it  :GRR: ...... Anything older , and not able to be updated , will be more open to being hacked ........

Tinfoil hat back in the drawer ...... :)

How's the battery life, Brockett? I'm wondering if you've been live streaming daily episodes of "Brockett's Pockets"?

The iphone was brand new out of the box. Battery life was very good.
I never used it to make video and only took a couple of photos  to try it out.
I only used it for three or four weeks. I had to go back to the Samsung because I could never get on with the iphone.
Data usage showing on the phone 8th Jan to 5th Feb is 11.5 Gb.  So how is O2 showing over 50Gb from 13th January??
Someone or something is using my data allowance.

I had another trawl through recent bills and noticed that I have never used even 1Gb of data .e.g last month 0.04 Gb. Following Nigels advice I checked through the DATA USED doodab and that showed mostly nothing has been used. Also on my O2 home page I entered a query for 'no 5G' and straight away got the response. "Sorry, it looks like your local service has failed, click the link to receive a text when it is available".  2 hours later my phone was able to pick up 4G. ( I turned the wifi off to detect this.) So the 'Adviser' who told me I was out of data with a  "would you like to purchase more", was wrong.  They must be trained to deal with all things going wrong as " it's not us so it must be you, so buy more data". All this started yesterday when I went to Argos to collect a parcel but could not get the collection code off my email due to no internet connection.
Good job I am retired or I'd be billing them for the 4 hours or so that I wasted fannying around with my phone and the interweb today.  On the brightiside the unhappy penny pinching side of my brain was engaged and I didn't invest in more data.
As for the iphone - that is going to my son. He really wants it. I hope they are happy together.

Hmm , when I put my sim in my last phone , not the present one , it would not get 5g .
Was told it would take a while to come on ???
It didn't , took it back to the O2 shop....." Oh.. we get that all the time ...we will put a new sim in "... 5 mins later sorted and all good ......
