Having had the 2020 NC750X and it having an uncomfortable seat, awkward fuel filler ( no! really awful),  poor suspension, inadequate brakes and how any engine can be fed with petrol and have no soul is a secret that Honda should keep to itself.
I am hoping the jazz will see me out.

Is it me? So far January is not going too well.
Friday I used the DVLA website to pay road tax - all details entered and all was OK until a message said something like Transaction failed and the page kicked me off.
Back into it again and the same details entered and this time it worked.
However this morrning my Bank account shows two payments of £87 were taken.  ###
On the phone to DVLA and nice young man who had never heard of such a thing, sorted it out and a cheque will be on it's way soon.  :GRR:

Brockett. I have got to say "You are so good at this moaning business". I've tried but there is no way I could compete, when I have had a moan on here (and will again soon) I have always felt so much better for it, it's good to share.

Keep up the good work and as for the DVLA, b*****s, they let so many people down but at least the nice chap gave you back your hard earned.  :) :lala: :thumb:

Surprised they didn't charge a handling fee   :GRR:
Perhaps charge them for lost interest next time ......

I have spent a good while this evening pondering my motivation for sharing these snippets of the ongoing catastrophe otherwise known as my life. I have had no thought as to how these may affect anyone bored enough to read them. Maybe, like the poor unfortunates in ancient Bagdad who gathered in the central market place to display their ailments to public gaze in the hope that someone would know a cure. As the good Doctor hints ' a good old moan' is just letting off a little steam that in turn takes the sting out of whatever is irritating. A  little Schadenfreude won't go amiss either.

It's cathartic Brockett, get it out there, have a big bowl of grumble flakes and feel a bit better because you've got it off your chest.
It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'

A few years ago, I developed occasional 'trigger finger.' This happens every couple of years, usually after doing some heavy work / lifting.

This, for those that fortunately have never hear of it, is a problem with tendons in the hand swelling and jamming in the little tubes they run through, rather like a damaged brake or clutch cable jamming in the cable outer. The usual treatment is a cortisone injection, which works very quickly.

Our GP has an on line booking system called 'Ask My GP'. You log in, explain the issue, the staff at the practice direct your enquiry to the correct clinician and a course of action is recommended, usually very quickly. I should add that I am an extremely rare visitor to my GP.

Over Christmas / New Year I once again developed trigger finger, this time in my wedding ring finger, so after trying all the usual jels, pills, heat and cold that sometimes relieves the issue, I put an enquiry into Ask my GP.

The info on line says that I will receive a reply in 2 to 5 days, but if I don't get a reply, I should ring the surgery.

After seven days and no reply I rang the surgery, to be told multiple times by multiple recorded messages that I could use Ask my GP, I then found myself put through and in a queue, "you are caller number 14!".

So yesterday, on my way home from another errand, I called into my doctors surgery and spoke to a real person, who told me "you are on the list for treatment and we will be in touch in a couple of weeks", which is fine, but why could someone not just have emailed me that information!
The older I get, the better I was.

Neil, I think it is called Carpal tunnel or maybe it's Tendonitis. My ex wife had Carpal tunnel, it caused her a lot of pain before an operation and for a little while after, then she was pain free. So, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I've found it easy to get lost in the NHS waiting game and it pays to make a nuisance of yourself by phoning on occasions and maybe visiting to ask where you are in the que? I have resorted to that and although it goes against the grain, it has worked for me.

I hope it all goes well for you and that you're pain free soon.  :thumb:

It's called carpal tunnel syndrome, and it's a swelling of the sheath, no the tendon.
Confused as hell, but at least I know which end of a spanner to hit a nut with!

Neil, I can emphasise with your discomfort.
Until you've had a finger lock down you really don't know what pain is, I've got three fingers on both hands that do it.
Gardening brings mine on amongst other stuff. Injections didn't help.

I believe the carpal tunnel is in the wrist joint, although I am sure, it could all be related. What I have is definitely trigger finger, cos that's what the Doctor told me it was called, and yes, it is the sheath, not the actual tendon.

Upt. Yup, digging the whole of my front lawn up to make a wild flower garden set it off. Before that it was heaving a Triumph T140 engine  and frame around the workshop, this time I have spent several weeks helping a mate shift his garage business to a new location, so lots and lots of heavy lifting.

I love being retired, but to quote the great Phil Collins "getting old f'kin sucks".

Neil -Commiserations.  My brother in law suffers with that from time to time so much that he is unable to unlock certain fingers to hold cutlery, get dressed or drive.

Today in the mighty Jazz. I took the slip road off the A12 toward Halstead. A large removal lorry was in front of me. I followed it all the way to Sible Heddingham at no more than 30 mph at any time. It indicated a right turn, but could not make the turn without first allowing a right turning truck out to clear the junction. So I followed that the rest of the way to Haverhill.  To be fair even on a motorcycle  I probably couldn't have overtaken either truck skinny roads with always something in the opposite lane. I know the route well but I've not been through it for a couple of years. But golly the road surface has deteriorated with huge and frequent pot holes and subsidence. For a main route it is nothing short of dreadful.

Brockett, you would have driven past the end of my road, and yes, considering it's a main trunk road through Essex is horrendous.
Sturmer was resurfaced two years ago, but I've once again found myself swerving around potholes.

My sister lives in Great Bradley so I usually take a right in Sturmer and head through Kedington. I think the modern trend for the highest allowable axle weights is just too much for these old roads. Back in the day, when the increased axle weight was agreed by the government, it was on the basis that "very few vehicles of that type were on the road". I remember thinking "IDIOTs of course there arn't as they would be illegal".  It was all very well conforming to other EU countries requirements but who is going to pay to upgrade every road in the UK? (nobody). Just buttering a layer of tar and chippings is not going to do it.

I decided to visit an indoor shooting range today which is 30mins drive away. After loading two guns into the car I set off with a smile on my face but that soon vanished. 15mins into the drive I came to a "Road ahead closed" sign with an arrow directing me to turn left, I did and was then met by another sign that took me back to where I started.

A local kindly gave me directions around the block which I took and was met by another "Road ahead closed" sign. My Sat Nav then decided to give me some advise and I was directed back to the first road block. Determent to do as I set out to do I returned home and set out again on A roads and motorway, the long way round.

Just before turning into the road where the range is I saw a burger van and decided to have a breakfast in a bap with a cup of tea. The chap serving told me it was only his second day selling burgers at the van, it took almost half an hour, standing in the rain waiting for my order... Honestly. He did knock £2.00 off the bill for my wait and patients so it wasn't all bad.

At the range I paid £14. 00 for an hour on the range which wasn't long but just long enough to zero one gun then have some practice with another but, the elderly chap on the lane next to me had bought a new gun, scope and other bits for his gun, £3000 worth and was trying to zero it.

The chap couldn't get a group small enough to affectively zero and kept talking to me, hence my hour passed quickly, one gun zeroed and just 10 mins shooting the other. The elderly chap went to one of the staff who sold him the gun and asked for assistance and when the crack shot started shooting, the group wasn't much better.

I took the long drive home A roads and motorway and to be honest, I wish I had stayed home. I was going to go back with my new gun after my scope mount arrives in the post and zero the scope to the gun but I'm not going back for a week or so now because I need to get there in a cool, good mood to enjoy the shoot and it's going to take that long to get over today.

Moan over and time for a cup of tea, Thank you for letting me share that with you.  :thumb:

It must be me. I am jinxed and the evil eye continues to gaze upon me...
I need a fuel tap for the used fuel tank I bought for the XJ
Yamaha no longer make them and Fowlers last price was around £130 but still not available
So its off to that EvilBay and they are available from £19 and upwards.
Finally when Yodel got off its backside it was delivered yesterday afternoon.
As I unwrapped it a small piece fell out ??
The vacuum connection has broken off.  I messaged the seller and he has asked for a photo.

On the brightside there is two good things 1. the POR15 tank sealing kit arrived and I think ( ha!) that I'll have go at the electrolysis method to clean out the tank. Water, soda, and a battery charger.  What could possobly go wrong?
2. After spending the better part a day searching the web a brand new front tank support bracket complete with two rubber buffers and metal ferrules was purchased from CMSL  in the netherlands. For a total of £24.44. Good price for unobtainium.

JB Weld is your friend for that broken piece. Of course you would like it replaced etc, but if that doesn't happen, JB Weld it.
