It's the same in Ireland and I'm sure in every country where they are pushing the climate change agenda.
It's got so bad I can't watch the weather forecast anymore, absolute bs same as the 'news'
Weather warnings and coloured 'alerts' and doom and gloom week in week out.
I've seen storms blow in here in the northwest off the Atlantic far worse than any they talk about but if it's not affecting Dublin and the southern part of Ireland it doesn't concern them.
The 'Beebs' as you call it forecasting is light years ahead of what we get here from our state broadcaster.

Well we had it described as a 'meteorological bomb:icon_exclaim:

This morning it was 'more fear than harm'

Add to that 'feels like' temperatures, measuring temperarature in decimal points and records being broken at every forecast. Utter b*llocks!   :angry-banghead:
So how's it going so far then?

Bloody cars........................... :GRR:

After the snow and freeze of earlier in the week , I have been having to open the drivers door on my Alto by reaching in from the back door, seems the outside handle mechanism had frozen solid and my heaving frying pan hands snapped a tiny piece of plastic connecting the rods.... :GRR:

So , door liner off this morning  ( not TOO bad , at least the snow has turned to slush , so I could find the enevitable dropped pegs/ pins/ screws  :GRR: ) to investigate....yep ...new door handle needed....
Fleabay turns up an OE one for...................£14............could have got pattern for £7 ...but.... :lala:

Don't have to suffer this door handle sh*t with bikes .......

Actually, I think all vauxhalls after a certain date do it. It's just that not many people seem to know about it (including vauxhall drivers!) lol.
When opening or closing your vauxhall with the fob, keep your button pressed down and it will either open or close both front windows (depending on which button is pressed).

Nice for when you get out of the car and realise you've left the window down..! :D

I'm 57, and only had 5 cars, 2 of which were/are Vectras! I like them lol.
Would love a Vectra VXR in the Arden blue, but couldn't afford the insurance!!!

I did love my old shape Nissan Primera 1.3 though...

I liked the Vectra in it's day and considered buying one. Back then I did a second job on my days off from my full time employment, I was a car recovery driver. I lost count of the amount of Vectra's I or the other drivers recovered because of the timing belt pulley destroying the engine because (I was told) it was made of plastic and not metal and simply not up to the job.

I never owned a Vectra! The number of fails was too high for me to take the risk. I did own an Omega and loved it but fell out with Vauxhall because of a fault, apparently caused  by a sensor that I had investigated and changed by three Vauxhall garage's and a couple of independents and when I sold the car it still had the fault and yes, the buyer  was made aware of the fault before buying. I say buying, I practically gave it away, he never found the fault and persevered with the cutting out on tick over unless he kept the rev's up. He had it for at least two years.

I have friends who have owned Vauxhall's and put many fault free miles on them but I drive a Nissan and feel more comfortable.   :thumb:

I had a Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7 TD it was one of the best cars I ever owned, so easy to service and never gave a days bother, it had the 1.7TD Izuzu engine, never burned a drop of oil between oil changes, I sold it at around 250,000 miles and regretted it after it,
it's probably still going 25 years later!

I had my first Vectra something like 8 years.
It had the usual weeping valve gasket issue.
One day, it blew its head gasket (outwards, didn't affect the oil/coolant), I was going through a ltr of oil a week!
About 3 weeks later... It stopped leaking! It sat like that and didn't miss a beat for the next 5 years! lol

Insurance renewals... Got the quote for the Strom through which had gone up from £193.88 to £237.88.
They helpful broke down the costs, which included £41.69 in commission plus £45 policy fee  :icon_exclaim: but not to worry, they'll auto renew for me  :groan:

Quick search on a couple of comparison sites and it comes up with a quote for £168.49, so I phone the current insurance company to say I can get cheaper elsewhere and end up being told they can renew for £167.50 with the same underwriter...  :dl_hyperhysteria:  That's not too bad given it includes business use.

I know we say it on here a lot, but it just goes to show always worth shopping around and not just auto-renewing.

I have a Honda Jazz although there's nothing 'jazzy' about it. 2015 car with 96k on the dash. From day one it has had a willingness to stall. Not every time I stop / start but a few times a day. Just as I touch the pedal and begin to lift the clutch it will die. However it  never does it when the engine is cold. The other week, sat at traffic lights,  I noticed the idle speed drop a few hundred RPM and then climb back to normal and before the lights changed to green the revs dropped again. Alerted to this I now always check it when stopped in traffic and it always does it. I wonder if this is a fault and if this is the cause of the long term stalling problem.  Car is brown like a garden slug and only lacks and orange line around the lower edges to complete the picture. of course I don't use it when there is fresh salt on the road.

Brockett, if it doesn't do it when cold I'd suggest a fuelling issue.
Try putting a system cleaner through it, Redex do one.

I think that, as it has done it since new, it is a fuel mapping issue. I tend to push it up to 1800 rpm and slip the clutch to get going from a standstill.
My old SV had that start assist feature that allowed it to pull away, up hill, without touching the throttle. Wish my car had that. Since I noticed what it is doing I will ask the dealer if there is a map update available, but I will never buy another Honda.

Qualify that, Brockett.....not another four-wheeled Honda.
