Ian, the bloke I was with (who really did have a horrible stroke just after) was Black Country, the chippy we would visit was on the Wolverhampton Road off the M6 at Bentley. I think he actually called em Wasall Chips but my memory may not be what it was. It was about a mile from J10 towards Walsall on the left of the road. It's probably a kebab house now.
But they were the finest chips I ever ate anywhere. You could feel your arteries tightening.

crazy weather eh! the daily forecast up to the 14th June shows a certain West Wales campsite will, every day, be up to 5 degrees warmer than my area on the North sea coast of Essex.  14 degrees here and 20 degrees there...  I shall have to write to my MP

Since I broke my Tendon above my knee I have been off work, I was getting £95 a week SSP from work which stopped after 28 weeks, then I had to claim for ESA which took 7 weeks to come through ( was hoping it was going to be back dated but sadly it was not ).
Once it started the letter said this will run for 1 year but I may have to Attend an assessment, well I had the Assessment late March all went well I thought ?
The lady said she will send her report to the DWP and they will be in touch.
Well yesterday I had a text from the DWP saying you will receive a call within 2 hours regarding your Assessment, the call came and I was told you needed to get 15 points or more to continue to get your benefit then she said unfortunately you didn’t get any points so you benefit will stop straight away 
She said you will receive a letter explaining the decision and I can Appeal if I want to, I will wait until the letter arrives then decide my next step.

I know it was only £77 a week paid fortnightly but having worked all my life and never been out of work at all I thought I would able to get something.

Sorry to hear that,make sure you get that  appeal  in,keep trying don't let them get  away with it.

That'll be La Manche kwackboy. It only works if you're fleeing oppression, not seeking it and after some time you'll be assessed (again) but then you'll get an all expenses paid flight to a 'wonderful country' somewhere in Africa. (Same travel company as 'Sun-lit Uplands Dreams' holidays).

@Alby, explain to the assessment team that you frequent this forum.

That will see you with the requisite 15 points and at least another 100 points in credit.

Tell them you have a KTM and you'll never have to work again.

@Asmith61 ...   I think they turn all claims down as a matter of course and if you don't appeal then they have saved the cash. SO YOU MUST APPEAL.   Good luck and best wishes for a continuing recovery.

Asmith61 - is it well overdue healing / isn't going to heal, or just a slow process? If the former, you may actually be entitled to claim PIP too.

Sadly, I had to have another tooth removed yesterday. They are starting to get quite rare as I had to have one removed at the very start of 2022. Never mind the pain, abscess and the discomfort afterwards - it cost me £90! So much for my dental plan the covers everything (except extractions, crowns, fillings and basically any treatment other than an inspection and a scale & polish per year), which is as much use as a wax kettle...

Virgin mobile is about to be eaten by O2. I thought something was up when my last payment went from the ususal £13.10 to £16.31 next message from Virgin shows I am about to get a shiny new SIM from O2 and they have doubled my monthly allowance to 50GB. Unlimited text and unlimited minutes. Is this a good deal?
I never used more than 10% of what I had before.
I don't need roaming to 49 countries as I don't have a passport. Total GB coverage would be helpful but that won't happen as O2 will, without effort or investment in UK infrastructure, just plug into the network of another country.
I don't need treats like a free coffee in Greggs as there isn't one of them within an hours drive.
I don't want deals on events and tickets to gigs because I do not go out after 5pm or when it's dark. "Share a special moment in a packed arena"- Fcoff mate - I ride a motorcycle because know I will be on my own.
It's like they offered me a sightseeing trip to Olympus Mons.

A130 leaving Southend the price of diesel at Esso £1.46 - my local Morrisons are still charging 1.53. Huh! cheap supermarket fuel.  Over the last few weeks the spot price of diesel has been lower than for petrol. Rip off Britain lives on.

The supermarkets are really behind the curve on this, possibly because they purchase larger volumes at advanced prices, or possibly because they're evil.
I've been finding independents and some fuel only outfits like Gulf* and Totale Energie a good bit cheaper round here. Morrisons are basically breaking even IF you have a 5p off voucher from giving them all your remaining money in store.

* I aim here because they have the best colours during LeMans month 🤣

I think supermarkets such as ASDA and Morrisons who have recently been bought by other companies, who had to raise the capital with huge loans, are having to jack up ALL of their prices so as to generate enough cash to repay the loans. It is only because fuel is sold all around the country that a comparative price range can be observed.

I bought an old bike yesterday and brought it home on a trailer
Today I went on line to DVLA to register it for SORN.
Can't do that because it's not registered to me
I must wait until I receive the log book in the post and only if it hasn't arrived within six weeks can I register it on line.
Meanwhile this also means I can't tax it or ride it.
Have I got this wrong??
I'm sure that a few years ago when I sold a bike to a pal, I went on line and told DVLA I'd sold it and he taxed it the same day.  Has this changed.
The previous owner went on line to DVLA and told them he'd sold it to me while I was there!

If the change of ownership wasn't done on line but the old fashioned way by sending the V5 back to Swansea, you should still have the little green bit - V5C maybe. Using the number on it you should be able to at least tax it, maybe not SORN it though.

Looking on the bright side - if any scammer camera should catch the reg plate, the ikes still registered to the previous owner

Tax it online using the the number of the log book/new keepers slip.
that's what I did [in advance] so I could ride my current bike back home from the handover at the dealers.
