I was an early adopter of mobiles as I use them for work.Until a few years ago always had the new samsung s3,4,5,6 but since then have moved to the mid priced "A" range .If you took one of the A22/5g back in time a few years it would be the best phone available and does all I need for £200 new and it still gets security updates with a 3 day battery.And a headphone jack!!
On o2 signal is good apart from some areas on the rivers where it can be patchy.Our crew has mobiles from different carriers so we can always find one that works.For those who travel two up this might help with poor signal in some places ,doubling your chances if they use a different network. :thumb:

I used to do a part time job as a recovery driver on my days off from my main job. I carried a pager for years and when it bleeped I would have to find a phone box fast to ring in. My boss bought a mobile similar to above  and said I could use it instead off the pager, I declined and stuck with the pager. I never saw anybody use one of these phones except him. I wonder why?  :roll:

In my car tonight...  followed by a tanker IRO 15 miles on the A140. 50mph limit all way except for short 40 and two short 30s. It was so close to me that I could not see his headlights in my rear view mirror. But there was a huge radiator.....

Brockett
Are you talking about the Ipswich/norwich road?
 Since they downgraded it from 60 to 50 it has changed from a dangerous road to a deeply annoying  dangerous road.
It's one of those roads that seem to have a junction every 1/4 a mile down its entire run.

Brokett.

It seems to be more and more common these days, because tailgating the vehicle in front is BOUND to get you somewhere quicker and not likely to cause an accident at all.  :dl_smiley_banghead:

I have noticed that driving a leccy car seems to deter most tailgating. I think it's because it slows down very quickly using the built-in regenerative braking when you lift off the accelerator which doesn't activate the brake lights (unless on max regeneration), meaning the tailgater really has to be on the ball otherwise they've just had an accident that is entirely their fault! Just an observation.

@Brockett, you are Dennis Weaver.

Was this the tanker?

No I think it read HOYER on the back.

To deter cars I slow down a little and then boot it in third. As the black fog behind me clears the car behind appears reluctant to get close. It's 1.9 turbo diesel.

@Rusty not in my little box of memories that one. I seem to remember the Incredible Hulk on our screens in the mid seventies, if I remember correctly he used to turn green four times an episode the same number of times Kwai Chang Caine had a feight per episode?

As an old git the 70's gave us plenty of shite, The Six Million Dollar Man, Buck Rogers in the 20 something century, Dukes of Hazzard, BJ and the Bear and Chips.
