Not quite dishonest
On Farcebook an advert' for a private plate.  Something that would appeal to a specific make - price £999.
However, someone looked at the DVLA data sheet and found the number is still available.
So it looks like some mug pays £999 to the vendor who then obtains the number from the DVLA and passes it onto the "mug".
I wonder what the "markup" is worth?

There's always been a healthy living to be made doing basic application forms for lazy people and charging them lots for the privilege.

:text-goodpost: it's one of our business models at work....

Applying to connect a generator to the UK grid is not that difficult (says an ex DNO Senior Design Engineer...) but many companies just can't be arsed with the fuss and bother of the whole process. We charge thousands to do it for them and we're booked up well into May. The mark up is between £1,500 to £8,500, depending on the type & size of the application. Nice work if you can get it as they say.

Having waited 10 weeks for a DNO authorisation from Northern Power grid who promptly sent it 2 days after they were chased, it seems even the DNOs can't be arsed with the paperwork. Mind you, they got 10 weeks free leccy out of me so they were hardly going to respond quickly. Good job it was Jan/Feb so they got 100% of bugger all🤣.

All of the UK's DNOs and National Grid are late getting quotations out. We are three weeks late with two applications to SPEN. On the bright side we get £100 a day compensation. You nearly could make a business case for applying for multiple connections as so many will fail and result in guaranteed standards failures.

"Top Gear" is delayed by BBC due to the injury to Freddie Flintoff.
I hope he recovers to full fitness.
However, it has been many years since I watched the programme.
Driving like a knob seemed to be the image being promoted.
If the cars were replaced by motorcycles  and the format retained there would be swift calls for it to be taken off air.

Not Exactly a Moan
Contacted DVLA this afternoon looking for a licence check code. Resigned myself to a lifetime of waiting but holy shit I had the code in under 5 minutes. Well done DVLA, now Florida car hire comes closer and the code probably won't be needed. Better safe than sorry.

I bought a new car the other week and had the V5 and the refund cheque for the old one's remaining tax within a week. They're not hanging around these days, so credit where it's due.

Scrotes. My neighbour disturbed a little bunch of them trying to climb my fence and taking an unhealthy interest in my bike shed about half past midnight. Scummy b'stards. All dressed in black, gloved, balaclava-clad. That'll be a sleepless night for me tonight, then. :icon_batterup:

Air fryers. These are very popular and can be picked up for about £100, however after a lot of research the mrs managed to find one for £300. So now the mrs has bought one, she feels she has to justify it's existence & bench top space in the kitchen. While it's OK, I'm getting a bit fed up of having every meal prepared in it, I even cobbled up a chilli to avoid another meal from the damn thing the other night. I even got a chocolate sponge that was done in it the other day. She'll sicken of it soon enough like the juicer, sammich toaster, multi chef etc...

It must be time for that "I need another bike to do different things on" line.

She'll then complain that the other one sits on one side of the garage doing nothing....

To which you can reply..........

Worth a try!
