Been having trouble with starting the Varadero for a few weeks now...the HISS immobiliser won't turn off and allow me to start the bike (basically)
Its been to the garage three times already!!
First timeThey cut some new keys for me with new chips in - didn't fix it so went back again.(also couldn't get the steering lock to work and this is when I found out its because of an aftermarket lock barrel that wasn't long enough to allow the steering lock to work!)
Second time Chip reader was changed and that should have been the end of it, still having the odd bit of trouble so took it back again just to have a quick chat about it etc....couldn't get the bugger started when I came out so ended up leaving it there leading to the third time.
Third timeNew lock barrel - new keys - new ignition switch. I was hoping this would be the end of it!!
Came out of work tonight, had to spend an hour and a half trying to start the bugger....

finally it started after the Mrs had to come to the rescue with jump leads (because at this point I'd worn the battery out). got 50 yards up the road AND THE

COMPLETELY CUT OUT ON ME

so, charged it up again - back to the original problem - HISS won't turn off....another hour later I just packed up, admitted defeat, secured the bike and came home.
Ever since I started driving I said I wanted to stay away from anything with any kind of electrical devices on that could go wrong, then decided I was being a mad arse and should just move on with the times and when I do...I get a big kick in the groin for all my efforts.

Thinking I might ask for my Strom back
