I agree grrrrrrrrrr. I can buy Eddison screw bulbs but can't find the Battern lampholder fitting it screws into.  I am in the dark on this one.

Ikea sell adapters. Bulb screws in, bayonets out the back. Quid a pair. Inelegant, but functional.

Very illuminating.

Excellent moaning good Sir. :thumb:

Candles that's what you need or if shopping in Sheffield ask for cangles.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

If you need more than three, then ask for Four Cangles.

Why is it that on days like yesterday, with armeggedon rain, that the postman leaves important documents half hanging out the letterbox so that the letters are soaked, blurred and stuck to the envelope, yet the pizza leaflets are sitting on your hall floor and are all nice and dry?

Its just part of the fun of the job.
The pizza menus are usually shiny and don't absorb water.
The schoolboy delivering them doesn't have to walk round in the deluge for 5+ hours.
None of our gear is waterproof.
Half the letterboxes have brushes behind that are so strong that the wet mail won't go past them.
What's this "important documents"? Every time I see anybody tbey say "more junk then, that's all we ever get"

I'll let you off on the leaving stuff hanging out of the letterbox, though. That's not on. Never in 20+ years - unless -  you've got one of those tin cigarette case-sized boxes fastened to your wall with a razor sharp spring- loaded letterflap guarding the microscopic cavity within.

If it gets too wet I'll just make a papier maché model dinosaur out of it all and go home.

At least it didn't go to the neighbours - and I didn't take a shortcut across your lawn and trample your hollyhocks.

You can't teach stupid.

Taken from that V-Strom related facebook group.

Bloke has a bike with a battery that's past it's best bit doesn't want to spend out on a new one just yet.
Has a halfords clip on charger...
'Automotive' with pictures of a car, campervan, boat but no bike. There is no spec shown in the picture.

People with no fecking idea says "oh it's for all automotive batteries"...
Que me saying a bike battery isn't automotive and all the reasons why you wouldn't use that charger on a bike... over charge, swell, spray acid, explode!

Then people start arguing with me over it after I've already said I used to sell them for a living and know more than they do about batteries and chargers.

Fair play to people for sticking to their ideas, but ffs can't they use their brains before they speak or that asking too much

Yeah thanks to Graham for the support, but I think it will all fall on deaf ears, until a load of batteries split and spray acid over everything.

I bet the morons will then put a warranty claim into Suzuki for the batteries  lol

Can I not just receive something in the post (anything, I'm not fussy) that doesn't have a £75 Wine Voucher in it?

Leaves.

Or more accurately, neighbour's my leaves. On one side we have The Clampits complete with feral children, Henry and Elsie. On the other we have Widow moaning twat. Across the road we have Widow pig eyes and next to her Widow Rampant.

All have trees that deposit leaves and all of them, every single one of them ends up in the gulley for my driveway. For the third time this year I've had to lift all the covers to remove THEIR leaves from MY property.

I'm sick to death of it I can tell you.

I'd go as far as saying I'm outraged. ###

I always thought you must return to your neighbour any vegetation that falls onto your property.

This is her Rusty, taking TLP's KTM for a ride around the gardens at TL Towers.

Note the leaves for proof.

Her name is Beryl, she'll be 86 next year and she scares me to death.

She is very suggestive towards me and makes me feel uncomfortable. A couple of years ago she went on a "Tinsel and Turkey" break to Ilfracombe with Widow Pig eyes. On the 1st night she shagged a complete stranger then ignored him for the rest of the week.

Mrs Power calls her a "game old bird"....
