@Nigel - Love the steps shortcut. Bet it looked like a scene from a Bond film.. 🤣

@Snakebite - You’re spot on, I find it does seem to release endorphins, and the more/heavier the traffic, the greater the ‘rush’ 😁

The early sun failed to deliver on my run up to Bury 75 miles away  :GRR: single digits when I left but warmed up to 12 ish coming back , not bad for the time of year but not enough to dry the roads.
Just a couple of mopeds  , the Strom and the old boy with his RSX100 at the bike park , seen behind my bike in the pic.
I posted about the old boy a year or two ago and see he has got the RXS past 80,000 now....Respect.
Met office was right , rain at 11.30 , that chased me home with a tail wind , just made it home fairly dry .

Credit to you for getting out in the crappy weather Nigel. Was it a leisure ride to Bury? Just wondering if you'd gone somewhere nice to take a bike, as it's only 40 minutes from me.

I have happy memories of my RSX100. I got one as a cheap stop gap after my GSX250 got "shortened" by a blind man driving a mk1 Escort. Seem to recall it would touch an indicated 70 with my chin on the tank and unlike the Honda HS100SII I had as a first bike, the regular flat out riding meant I never once had to de-coke the exhaust baffle. 80k miles on one is seriously impressive though!

Been there, just paid for that..!
I'm now in the process of refurbing my callipers personally rather than forking out to have them done..!
Confused as hell, but at least I know which end of a spanner to hit a nut with!

Out early to get bootlaces..................
Ended up a county away at Blaxhill Growing Stone , via a nice windmill.
A spooky stone that was dug up in the 1800s and is supposed to grow.....It was the size of a loaf of bread when ploughed up , so the locals say
Set the Sat Nav to direct line to see how to get home , across two counties....hmmm...sometimes works , sometimes not.
Mostly good bs , some towns . Muddy as SH*T in some spots , and only one dead end . A win in my book.
Five hours , 175 miles later got home ...no bootlaces ... :GRR:

Yesterday ........
I knew the rear tyre was getting a little squared off, but was hoping it might have lasted for the few rides I might get in over winter, but in the last 3/400 miles it seems to have done quite badly.
A few phone calls at the start of the week & only found one local place that could get my preferred tyre (Conti Trail Attack 3's) in before Christmas. It would cost me £30 more for the pair than one quote, but needs must!  :)
Bloody cold ride there, but the free coffee & biscuits, while I waited, sorted that out.  :thumb:
I also asked them to have a look at the rear brake pads while it was on the ramp ....... I had them changed while it was there. Saves an old man crawling about on the garage floor in the cold.

Thanks to Powerslide, Derby. Great, friendly lads. Maybe a little more expensive than other local garages, but they got the job done.  :thumb:

A few photos to prove it happened  ......

Nigel, I think that's a poppy  :thumb:

I haven't even seen my V-Strom in weeks so I've done nothing with it. Hoping to give it some TLC and get out over the Christmas period...

Very short ride to Toolstation to collect DIY supplies yesterday, first ride in many months but she fired first turn and ran like a dream. Full tank of Tesco's finest Dinosaur Cocktail on the way home so a it's 'When the weather allows' for the next few months I reckon. Now, back to that DIY.

Not only the weather R43, the roads around us are as shitty as shite on a shite stick. Plus the farmers are in full hedge cutting mode, plus the darn suicidal pheasants, plus the foreign tourists who refuse to stay away, plus the blummin deer.......
It's a jungle out there.

Got to love a custard cream.

I was disappointed, there were only three in the tub, I had to resort to the shortbread when I'd eaten them.

Fitted a Temu 42 litre top box, cost 90 euros delivered!  it matches the black SW Motech/Suzuki panniers but the quality obviously isn't the same.
It will hold one helmet and gloves though, nuisance not having a top box, couldn't fit a bigger top box because the top opening panniers being set so close together wouldn't allow it.
