Not as much time on the bike as I would like as work keeps getting in the way, but I did get shiny sprocket fitted. There was so much chain lube and grime to clean off, one advantage of black wheels is I never realised how yuk the rear wheel was. All cleaned, bearings look excellent so just a fresh wipe with grease and job done.

Now to do the swing arm bearings, so chain will have to wait…

Yuk! Note to self, take the rear linkage apart regularly. I have only had the bike a year, but previous owner never cleaned so I had 4 years of grim to remove. Lovely

Yep, I’m very sad and have OCD, apologies. I have hibernated the bike now as I don’t care for riding in the cold and wet. I managed 6k this year, so I do ride more than I clean… just.

Looking good graingerblaze. I might have to post a picture of the linkage of mine for Halloween to give you a fright.

Likewise, it's still on the to do list but all the bolts are seized and rounded so it's going to be angle grinder when I do commit and I'd like a lie down first.
Did ride mine today for the first time since July. Life really got in the way this summer but I was happy I did more MTB for the first time in years.
Exhaust seems to have sealed for now and the new foot pegs are mega.

Used that extra hour to get out early ..ish . 4c so first use of the heated jacket ( toasty ) on the ride up to Kings Lynn..b road style.

Middle of nowhere came across some turkeys making a pre Christmas break for freedom. I did briefly look at one of the smaller ones , weighing up if it would go in the tailpack.....but they are a b*stard to pluck and the head male ( with his fan up ) was giving me the evil eye....

Onto Lynn and spied a ruin...a quick check on the TRF green road map showed I was allowed up the farm track leading up to it , so set off up it . Probably should have waited and come back another day on the CRF , but I was a mile in when it got flooded ( it had been raining all day yesterday )...I stopped , found a stick and checked the depth...14/18 "....hmm...I could see the ruined church now so said Feck it ...
Nice ruin , at home now I checked it out and this link gives a 360 3d view , click on 3d..
https://skytechcambridge.nira.app/a/N-ojXHATTkia8Xy9NzGXHw/1

Thought " I'm not risking the water again " and carried on up the track , road tyres are NO good in sand .
A smaller water flood was crossed before I found the main road and made my way to Lynn.
The bike got a ( rare but needed it this time  ) quick hose down and GT85 at home ... :icon_wink:

Out from lynn and twisties back home, nice autumn ride . Will have to come back this way on the CRF for a more thorough explore... :thumb:

I'll have a 12 pounder, I'll pluck it myself and dead or alive would be OK.
Please deliver it to Big Lad, Wooler, anytime before 23rd December.
Obviously there will be no payment involved but I'll provide you with a mug of hot Bovril before you ride the 6 hours back.
Thank you.

The forecast for today had been looking good for a few days but I had two appointments on the calendar pencilled in. On getting up this morning it was too good to miss, so a couple of phone calls & both appointments rescheduled for later in the week ..... who wants to be meeting solicitors & estate agents on a great day for riding?  :icon_no:
A 120 mile clockwise ride around Derbys', taking in a bit of Staffs on the way north. A lovely day, the roads were dry in most parts & temperature wise, not bad at all, 13° showing all day even at the highest points, very windy in parts though.
Three cafes visited for food & drink.
For those interested in churches, I'm thinking that as Flash is the highest village in England St. Pauls Church would be the highest church in England? (that's above sea level, 1518 ft, not the tallest)

A few photos to prove it happened .........  :)

Took a wobble down to Rutland, was heading on to RAF Duxford to meet r’kid who was booked onto a couple of their ‘Classic’ flights, but those were cancelled due to poor weather, so headed back home, stopping by this ‘New Classic’ on the way.
Easily spotted from the A46 near Norton Disney.

Left the Strom tucked up in my shed, it was a bit nippy this morning so I took the car to work.
I also had a sneaky suspicion that the gritters would be out, and they were, this evening coming home. Forecast for 2°C by morning and DRY all night.  :angry-banghead:  :icon_no:

I haven't seen the evidence of gritters yet me duck. But it won't be long, another frost forecast tonight. I'm not surprised either you can't see any black looking up tonight just a sky of silver sparklers and burning space crap falling back to earth.
The ISS will be over twice before dawn.

Feck all that sh*t , I am working in an unheated wetshed ( the river is indoors  :icon_wink: ...along with the wind but no sun  , I would rather be outside :GRR: ) at the moment.....brrr....

Forecast is 15c today here in Norfolk, ( we don't have the hottest or the coldest temps in the UK , but the greatest range of temps...apparently....  ) 12c overnight..........getting WARMER next week .......in November....

Bring it on   :lala:.

No rain forecast for today and the temperatures looked to be reasonable as well so.... time to get a breakfast.

Decided on Choppers Cafe, just outside Marlborough in Wiltshire.

It's about 80 miles from home, so off to the Mendip Hills, over to Frome, then past Longleat to Warminster. From there it is up and over Salisbury Plain and eventually onto the A303 past Stone Henge. A quick blip up the A303 dual carriageway, then off towards Tidworth and a few miles on Choppers Cafe.

There seems to be a thriving population of Raptors in the area. I saw a lot of Red Kites, a few Kestel's and then spotted a circling Sparrow Hawk.

Breakfast was tasty, hot and hearty. Just the job.

When I left I spotted a 19 plate 650 outside. I guess the owner is not a member here as he would have seen my 2015 L4 outside, but didn't say anything.

I took a different route home and sort of headed in an approximate homeward direction. For the first half and hour I had no real clue where I was, then I recognised a farm and looked over my left shoulder, sure enough, there was one of the eight Wiltshire white horses that can be seen from a road... I think there are 13 or so in total.

After being delightfully 'lost' on fast, deserted B roads, (what a treat), I finally found myself in familiar surroundings, although not quite where I thought I would end up.

Back past Stone Henge (not the plan at all), and pretty much a reverse of the moring outward journey.

Total miles about 185.

The older I get, the better I was.
