Retorts in order.

@user650. How conventional. A key. The Nail has evolved, by itself into a state of the art, high tech vehicle that the MODERN coffee bar generation would adore.

@Rusty. Yea but no but. Details, details. Sir Clive Sinclair and Victor Kiam  are willing to invest millions. Ducati have offered me even more to keep the technology involved quiet. So I will.

@Graham. The figures are in. Each gallon allows 43.75 miles of forward motion. Not bad eh? When I arrived home Bucket was going bonkers, (I normally turn the Nail off and freewheel to avoid this situation)the 1st thing Mrs Power said was "You stink of exhaust". So a safety feature, I can be found in the dark if I'm lost by smell.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Walter Rohrl.

Got my new (to me) 2005 650 V-Strom home Thursday. On Saturday I did an oil & filter change, took a couple of pics, and I'm beginning prep for an MOT shortly. Shouldn't need to do that much hopefully. Did my Direct Access 3 weeks ago, it's my first bike, and words can barely express how excited I am!

Picked the bike up at lunchtime today, 3 miles on the clock (prereg DL650 A L7), quick spray of aC50 around the obvious places then 90 miles around the Trough this afternoon. Bit cold so coffee and cake at Slaidburn. Lovely day, lovely bike. Well chuffed. Can't wait to start customising  :lala:

Nice one! The Trough of Bowland is great riding country too.
