Vstrom 800re panniers
« on: November 27, 2025, 09:05:41 »
Looking at Givi luggage options for an 800re, does anyone know if you can get Givi monokey pannier rails that would take the old type Givi e360n panniers?
The only side racks I can find online are for the cam side panniers or the ones that take the Givi V35 panniers.
I suppose the V35's would tuck into the bike neater.

I presume you have looked at the Givi website under the 800 accessories?

It doesn't look like it.

There is a contacts form lower down the page & even further down an email address for the UK, might be worth asking Givi direct?

Thanks Mick, doesn't look like the flat type side rails are available or if they will ever be, I'll send them an email anyway and ask.

vstroman,
If you want options if the Givi mounts don't work out

I recently contacted Shad to see if the 38x expandable panniers on my '22 650 will go on an 800RE , they said they will with a bike specific 3p mount ,around £140. I do like the clean lines without the panniers on , of the Shad 3p mounts.
Hard  to find pics of the RE , they all show DEs  :GRR:  but found this ...

Thanks Nigel. I wasn't even aware of those Shad 38x, just watched a youtube video of them, very clever.
Suzuki's own panniers are very neat on the bike but wouldn't hold enough stuff for me.

When touring / camping / general shopping with them I tend to pack them contracted , to allow easy filtering ( the mirrors are wider then) and when at the campsite  can remove the camping kit and  get my , boots  ( amazingly for size 12 Forma advs ) , gloves  and leathers locked inside expanded ( I chain the lid to the bike seat through back wheel , but getting it in on its own is doable ) , works for me

If you have crashbars fitted, an idea for extra luggage / camping gear is discussed in https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=43706.0 or perhaps a set-up as shown in the video in reply #27 in https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=35585.msg357428#msg357428 may be an option.

If you have funds to spare, another option may be to perhaps research a mono trailer, https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=37743.0 or as sold by https://thirdwheeltrailers.com.

Response from Givi,

Good afternoon

Thank you for your recent enquiry.

At the moment there are no plans to produce anymore pannier rails than are already available.

Should you need any further information do not hesitate to contact us.

 Kind regards
