So, not today as such but a couple of pictures from Alec & Andrea's wedding. The two registrar's were brilliant, taking into full account my mate's inability to verbally communicate. It was very close friends & family and it was a nice, dignified event. And yes, that is a splash of Champagne in Alec's drinking cup!

The face of one very proud & happy lady, plus I can see a little smile from Alec, but I'm sure there's a bigger smile in his heart.
Congratulations to them both.

I've just spent quite some time pondering these pictures.
They're so sad, but lovely at the same time.
It genuinely makes me feel lucky to have the health I have, albeit somewhat decrepit.
Good luck, and best wishes to them.

Thanks Mickly, plenty to drool over there, even the old Volvo.

I thought it worth getting the Volvo in, I think there's one or two in here that appreciate them?  :thumb:

Indeed there are, and that's a beauty.
Spent yesterday fixing window lifters, power steering header bottles and inlet pressure sensors on my brother's 03 V70 and rewiring his tailboard lights. Whilst today was swapping my 2000 V70 over to winter wheels and tyres. Nice when a set of alloys is £120 and tyres are £50 a corner for premium brands.
Also had to fit a new battery to the missus' more modern Ford Focus, took longer than the window lifters and wheels I swear, fiddly modern jobbers with no room under the bonnet innit 😂.
As for the jobs on the old man's 1992 240SE, well they're slightly longer term 🫣

@ Mr Rix.. I’m with you on the Focus battery, just done the same and fitted one to my daughters (for reference, a Varta with 4 year warranty- £75).
That is the most painfully located battery I’ve ever come across.

@ Mr 2112 - those are lovely photos, congratulations and well done to all who assisted.
I’m guessing, like you, there’s many of us on here who’ve experienced similar with friends and family, I feel such times are not only a reminder of the fragility of life and the need to enjoy it, but also a reminder to acknowledge and be grateful for the lives we’ve lived.
Whether you’re a brain surgeon or an ‘ordinary Joe’, life achievements are equally valid, relish life and be thankful. 🙏
My wife and I will be raising a glass to Andrea and Alec this evening 🥂

Early start this morning, Drove up to that there London to watch my wife’s Neice playing Rugby at the Stone X Stadium the home of the Saracens.
She was playing in a mini festival which included teams from Kent, Essex & Hertfordshire and she done really well and her team got to lead the saracens out for there Game against Bath.
We had to park the car 4 miles away from the stadium, as it was a sold out match.
So that meant a first for myself & the wife by getting an Uber  lol
A few pictures from today.

Crikey ASmith, I'm, exhausted just looking at the pictures. What a terrific day out.

We've been over to see my poorly mate Alec today and he's taken a turn for the worse. The Palliative Care Team have been out today after he had a really bad night last night and had the District Nurses out twice. He's been put back on two 'drivers' (automatic drug syringes) and everything is maxed-out. The Doctor has also changed his clinical assesment to Red - day's to live from Amber - weeks to live. He's not able to speak but managed a faint 'Bry' as we headed out from his house to pick up his prescription from Boots. Getting close now...

Your photos reveal the man behind the name and bring out the fierce reality of the situation.

Lovely pictures of the wedding but very sad to hear of his decline. I hope he's comfortable as can be.

Cheers for the kind words, it really does help. Alec, in all honesty, should be in Hospital but he has decided he want's to end his days at home. It would be easier (from a medical point of view) if he was in the Palliative Care Ward at Wansbeck Hospital but he has insisted he doesn't want to go into Hospital again. It may hasten his demise, but I think he's had enough now and you can see he's not fighting it any more. I shall be both devastated & elated in equal measures when the enevitable happens...
