Hi , just thought Id post this up here as it's a cracking deal .

I have used one of these smart phones for 18 months and they are cracking phones ( normally £200 )

The Mrs has been bending my ear about getting a new smartphone for weeks now and I've been putting it off as I didn't fancy shelling out hundreds (lets just say she has a habit of losing mobiles!)

This sounds perfect, so I've just ordered one!

Ptarmigan , it's a cracking phone for the money and not loaded with bloat ware from a branded network provider so it will run great , OK it's the older gingerbread version of android but it does everything just as well as the newer version and is actually easier to use in my opinion . I'll guarantee she'll like it mate .

Oh , and mine has been in the 99p s-line case since I got it and it's still like brand new .

Seeing as you know her so well I will be PMing you in a couple of weeks for some tips on what to get her for Christmas!.....

got mine there today. am I missing something though? I turned it on and its all in chinese (wee symbols and I can't make head nor tail of them funnily enough.) anyone else got the same problem

rite time for silly questions again. can't seem to connect to the internet or wifi in the house. anyone any ideas. I'm lost. tried searching the net for solutions but no joy.

WiFi should be straight-forward.
Click on > Settings
Then > Wireless & Networks
Then > Wi-Fi settings
(Then turn on Wi-Fi if not already on - add tick to box)
Then > Add Wi-Fi networks
In the pop-up box add your network name (it may detect it automatically). Then click on security and add type and password. Click save. It should then connect.

As for 3G, you may need to add VPN settings. Which network are you with (eg. Vodafone, O2, Three, etc)?

tried all wifi settings and connected to wifi with no signal despite being right beside it. keeps trying to obtain ip address unsuccessfully. with 02. what changes need to be made to vpn?

Right, firstly its the APN settings that probably need setting up, not the VPN's. Sorry my mistake.

cheers for the instructions. tried them but still no joy. the wifi won't even work

. going to contact the seller me thinks. unless anyone else has any tips.
