lol lol  No the opposite. I don't ride in the winter and when I do ride,  I wear leathers or riding jeans with a waterproof over trousers and that can get quite sticky.

I see from the forecasts that July is going to be another wet month.
Rain yesterday and although sunny today it's going to rain everyday for the next seven days.
So I'll not be going to the BSB at Snetterton.

Morrisons my local supermarket.
They dish out money off and discount vouchers from time to time and these must be exchanged withing a set time which can be as little as three days. Extra reward points or £10 off you next shop when you spend £XX  I.e. spend £40 on frozen food by Friday
Of course this does mean that single and or low income folk who do not, or can not, spend £XX extra for their weekday shopping are in fact subsidising the more wealthy folk who can spend more and get the rewards.
Just another example of wealthy families being subsidised by poor pensioners.

Plus, Morrisons used to simply give a £5 voucher if you spent a certain amount. Now they give discounts on what they want to get rid of, not what you want to spend it on. And you have to go through hoops activating offers, downloading and converting points, etc.....

Just had my renewal quote through from Carole Nash and it's £3 less than last year, now I have nothing to moan about, which pisses me off  :icon_wink:

Not often I this section but I'll give it a go ..

Went to vote today at my local polling station and was told I'm postal vote only..
I told told them I've not received any correspondence (which I haven't) in order to vote so I'm here now to cast my vote... same same in my opinion.

They told me this was against the rules and its now too late to send my postal vote off for counting.

Again , I said. How can send my vote off if I haven't received anything, surely I can cast my vote now , while I'm here with my voting letter and ID . ?

nope ..

What a f..ked up system we have to live in ..  :dl_smiley_banghead:

"with my voting letter"?
A white polling card?
Presumably you never registered for a postal vote or got the purple envelope with postal voting pack?
Odd.

Not your cockup Kwacker.

My wife is registered as a postal voter, she got nothing and realised too late that she needed to make other arrangements as she has no form of photo ID.

She went to the Polling Station anyway, with an old photoID from her last teaching post.. no good.

With any luck Labour will drop this ID nonsense.

The whole 'Voter ID' nonesense is anti-democratic.  I am a postal voter and that gets around all of that.  But it doesn't matter because in every General Election the Government gets in and none of them have ever done me any good.

Agreed Brockett.
In principle I don't object to photo I.D.
But in the case of a general election where the object is to avoid fraud it seems a little ineffective and easily circumvented by simply ensuring and fraudulent or coercive voting is done by post.
There is an elephant in the room here and the same elephant is what led to the ineffective legislation.
We need a revolution, meh, it did the French no good.
Pffffffftttttt.

14th May: I ordered a "brown bin"  for garden waste from the local council. cost £90 and they collect it 25 times a year
The web site says there's an 8 week wait and it arrived Friday last so they were about right.
No leaflet or notes but just a standard size bin.
I searched the various sometimes repetitive or out of date pages but nowhere could I find when it is to be collected.
"see your calendar "
The calendar shows alternate brown weeks and yellow weeks (red weeks for the Xmas new year period)
There is a note that shows no collection red weeks
I might assume that brown bins are collected on brown weeks but there is no indication which day of the week that might be. I might also assume that yellow weeks is for the local council to just take the P***.
My neighbours do not have garden waste bins. The folk who live in the terraced houses in the street keep all of their bins in their small front gardens all of the time. Spying on their waste habits yields little information. I will have to drag the bin down the lane and leave it adjacent to the pavement and then check it everyday and note the day on which it was emptied. The local authority being a home for bureaucratic apparachets sent out a note ordering householders to ensure that tops are removed from plastic bottles placed in the Green Box waste. After the waste had been taken away I went to tidy away the Green Bin only to find there were ten or so bottle tops in there that had been carefully picked around as the waste colletor did not have 'bottle tops' on his list of collectable items. This went on for a few months and I wrote to the Council and asked if I should now put the 50 or 60 tops now set aside as uncollectable in the general waste - 'Black Bin' from which they could collected and buried safely for the next 1000 years. I did think of collecting all the variously shaped and coloured plastic tops and making an artwork out of them, but not being Chinese  I doubt I'd get in Tate Modern.  Eventually the waste collector person gave up sorting through the stuff and took the tops away with everything else.  The local council did not reply to my email on the subject. However they send out a notice saying any householder who places a bin outside of their property will be liable to a fine of £80. I emailed them and said "your waste truck is not allowed up the unadopted unmade road leading to my property as it's weight may crush my water and gas services and if I can't leave my bins at the end of the lane  then how is this waste to be collected?"  They noted my email with advice that I should get a reply within 10 days. That was a couple of years ago now and I'm still waiting.
And all while with no road, no pavement, no streetlighting etc. I am in a higher council tax band than the houses in the street.

What a fantastic moan!
Try telling them that you're not paying your council tax until they reply to your queries.

So how's it going so far then?

There is no equality. If I don't pay my council tax I can go to prison but if they don't carry out their duties ..... nothing happens.
