I guess the more bitter pill to swallow then is that I had the hotel, restaurant meals and champagne but I thought I'd already paid for that........ OK, I have both French and UK pensions but who paid for what?  :shy:
So how's it going so far then?

I went into a cafe for a cup of tea yesterday. I put on my mask as it was packed, a lady in front of me looked, saw the mask (I was the only person wearing one) then said something to her ugly sister, they both then stared at me like I was an alien. It was only five minutes ago that we all Had to wear them.
I should of said something....... should have said something.

In Plymouth they say  "Where is it to?" How many times do you see 'of' instead of 'off'? I shouldn't talk really. I get my where and were's mixed up. Then I am a scoucer who didn't go to school much, from the age of 13 life was to short to fit in five days a week at school.

When you ask directions and are told I don't know but ask him, and point to some stranger who doesn't know either because he's not from around here or, like a lady yesterday, gave me long accurate directions which turned out to be in the opposite direction, probably because she was too embarrassed to tell me she didn't know. I was walking in my bike kit and sweating bits off by the time I got to where I was going. I eventually asked a little girl of about 12 years old for directions, she sent me the wrong way too but ran after me and Apologised for her mistake and gave me the directions I needed. Bless her. When it all boils down, life has it's up's and down's. It's all fun though.............. Or is it thow?  :thumb:

And another thing while I remember. Why do Mum's say "Don't put that on, it's damp". If that's true then we would all die in the rain!

It surprise me how many drivers still stop and ask me for directions, while there's an iPhone / Pixel / Galaxy phone on their dash / lap / in their hand.

I always tell someone I'm not from round here...

I did it once to a bloke in a very fancy Merc, then proceeded to let myself into my house.  lol

And yet another thing...
How many riders have noticed the vast number of vans/cars etc., who cut the apex on every bend??? We're supposed to move out towards the centre of the road for a left hander - not me any longer. Way too many suicide jockeys out there.
Think we should get the cage manufacturers/dealers to tell their customers that modern cars do go round bends on their own side of the road, but they must a) turn the bloody steering wheel a tad, and b) ease off the go pedal if the bend is a little tighter than they thought...

That is a bad moan. No, not that it doesn't happen and you have no grounds for moaning, just that good biking skills take account of 'cagers' cutting the centre line on bends. You read the road/situation and maintain your safety above all, like you suggest.......  :icon_wink:
So how's it going so far then?

AND at T junctions. When stopped waiting to turn right. There is no chance of a stationary bike getting out of the way. I now stop in the middle of the lane.
AND! AND! AND! more and more people are driving while staring at their bloody phones.  :dl_smiley_banghead:

Joe

Been riding bikes for 50+ years, including solo and sidecar road racing, enduro, trials and even MotoBall!  :old:
In that time I have been removed from my steed twice - cagers turning in front of me without looking. No major injuries.  :bow-blue:
I am more aware of what is happening around me, and whilst I agree that good riding skills need to be considered at al times, I cannot forgive the lazy, inconsiderate, idiotic and uncaring drivers who regularly fail to keep on their side of the road.  ### :icon_batterup: :dl_soapbox:
