Nice post,

I've considered upgrading my indicators as the orange lenses look a bit dated. Didn't realise it was this easy though.

It also helps that my bike is also a K2 Vee in blue, so I can see what it will look like before I even get my hands dirty!

Glad to be of service. Note thou regarding the indicators, the one I bought were fairly short, so I made a 5mm spacer to bring them out a touch. Just don't buy too stumpy of an indicator or the front will foul on the fairing, and rear maybe too close to the bodywork.

Anything else you want me to try for you? lol

Well only a couple of 5 minute tasks:

Full bike strip down with HD 1080p footage and narration of each and every nut and bolt. Valve clearances, spark plug changes, brake caliper reconditioning, brake fluid drain as replace, coolant drain and replace.

You know, nothing that wouldn't take a few minutes to sort out for a fellow strommer!

:groan: ill keep my mouth shut next time.

Tell you what though, I've just order my Hagon front springs and Hyperpro rear spring. The fronts ill definitely do, and do the write up, but until I figure out the full complexity of the rear, I can't guarantee ill do that myself, but you never know.

Take the rear to the nearest suspension shop, they can change the rear spring in 10 mins and shouldn't charge you more than £20 unless they are thieves. Unless you have the right tools it's just not worth the effort of doing it yourself. Front ones are fairly easy, just take your time and make sure you put the washers and seals back in properly (I bodged it twice before I realised my idiocy :shy: )

I take it the rear shock just comes off via top and bottom bolts. I'm guessing the adjuster goes along for the ride too.

Yep, off the top of my head, there are 2x 10mm bolts holding the remote preload adjuster. Then one bolt at the bottom where the shock bolts to the cushion linkage and one at the top. You should be able to get in for the top bolt without removing any panels, I used a long extension and a spanner to hold the other side. The bottom should be very easy to get at. Hope you have a centre stand, else you can't remove the shock unless you tie the rear up to an overhead beam or something. Would be a good time to remove the other bolts that goes through the cushion linkage and dog bones and rub some grease on the needle bearings in there.

If your front seals are looking good then I wouldn't even bother changing them. Just dump the oil out, pump it a few times to get it all out, put a bit of new oil in to flush and then hang them upside down over a catch pan to drain as much of it out as you can. Then fresh oil in to the right level and new springs in and the rest. Careful when putting the top caps on, the thread is fine and it's easy to cross thread them. If you want to you can stick the forks by through the triple clamps by 10mm to quicken the steering a bit.

14) Suzuki Rack and Panniers, re-coloured carbon/silver

After a wet 320 mile trek out, I came home with a wide load!

The rack has rust all over so the sensible thing was to strip it down and have it repowder coated. While that's away being blasted, zinc coated and then powder coated silver, I took all the nuts, bolts and fittings I remove and sent them through a wire brush attached to my drill. I also painted the spacers to stop them rusting.
Before

After a wipe over with ACF50

Next the panniers have a few battle scars on them, and as they don't match my bikes colours, I decided to do some painting and carbon wrapping.

HERES some useful info regarding securing the panniers

Pannier rack now back from coaters, heres a couple of pics with them fitted.

Does my bum look BIG in this?

Looks grand with the carbon wrap even though I'm not much of a fan of carbon fibre. Some ACF-50 on those nuts, bolts and spacers will keep the corrosion at bay for longer.

That carbon wrap job there looks excellent, kevshek, a great solution to the problem you had - it also looks like the sort of thing it would be easy to *@#& up. Mine would probably resemble the wrinkled hide off an elderly elephant , if I tried it...

The carbon does take a bit of practice, bit its quite forgiving. You need an old hair dryer, aswell and extra hands sometimes, bit I've had a lot of practice. It's good for hiding things or just even to give some contrast.

My car for example, I bought used and had no choice in the colour. It's a solid dark blue which is kind of naff, but I dressed up the car with a front splitter, sideskirts and rear diffuser, yep, you've guessed it..... In carbon.

I love that carbon wrap stuff, done a few bits of the Divvy I had.

Unfortunately, I got pissed and wrapped a few bits in the house too, including the sky remote, and phone backs...looked stupid :shy:

Hi mate, the buffering is still there but it's manageable. Can't afford a new screen at the mo, and I've got other stuff to sort out so I'm going to hold off.
