The Nolan turned out to be crap and I lost £30 because the we get charged ridiculous amounts to ship things to the EU from the UK (had to pay return postage.)

The Qwest internals are the same as the XR1100 I believe. My Qwest is very comfy, the Nolan was too, but I don't know how comfy it would be once it was worn in a bit.

Because you want a full face It has to be the Caberg V2 407 - £80 yes 80 from Motorcycle planet.co.uk if you are happy with a limited number of colours

5 stars with sharp - I know there controversy but I'm willing to agrue with anyone on that particularly with the five star rating.

It'll take a unviversal pinlock kit £20

It doesn't have a d ring for closure but does have a ring to lock it to the bike

I will never by any helemt again without an internal sun glasses they are simply wonderful - Visor fully up on a nice day eye still shaded and protected.

Got space for your ears with plugs and speakers

1.5kg

Not the greatest vents but witha pinlock on bad days, a windsrceen on the bike and a sunshade for good days visor fully up. I wear one two notchs open all the time behind a screen - never have it fully closed even in a frog strangler

Noise - I wear plugs for long fast trips

Vision I have only one working eye - on the wrong side for Uk ans Irish riding as well - Maybe I should live in France! So I'm think its fine but I have no real idea bout this one

Incidentally I was doing a similiar commute albeit on a different bike to you for years - I have a caberg trip as well - flip front five stars with a universal fog city insert - Maybe they are all on the warm side but the padging is there for other reasons

Remember in a helmet you basically have your head insid ea polystyrene cup - insulated - heat kept in more. Ever wonder why these light an airy helemts get lower marks in the Sharp - less material to absorb energy!!!

I don't fit Shoei or they don't fit me - Arais are very comfy but very noisy and two expensive if your on a off all day. Shark aetc are also not a good wrap for my noggin.

In an ideal world Arai comfort caberg sharp rating and cost. Sunvisor inide and It quietness of a  - don't know really.

can't go wrong for the money
It's not my fault, it's your fault. I told you I was stupid but you didn't listen!

Just bought myself a caberg sintesi, does not have bluetooth installed but I use that space for carrying spare ear plugs. Did not think I would ever get a flip but it's been great and came with pinlock which works great.

I have the V2 407 Cabbage and find it pretty good but the vinyl trim round the base is starting the split, as I have had it for about three years it's time for a new one I think... Back to HG tomorrow to look at the AGV S4 SV again. I like the Shark Vision R but at £220 it's a little pricy at the moment...

I like the Vision-R as well, I was wondering if I shouldn't up my budget a bit to get it. I like the one with the matt black and orange paint job. I'm still riding with the banged up Qwest, I should really get a replacement

ps. My problem with the Vision-R is that it doesn't have an antifog insert and it's something I will have to buy extra which pushes the price up even more.

I sympathise, I spent a couple of hours in a store in Kircaldy trying on all of their helmets a couple of years ago....bought the one with the best fit and construction, ended up with a Shuberth S1, £400-odds. My wife was with me and insisted I get the one that was comfiest regardless of price. Its a double D ring fastener too, I hate the ratchets/buckles & can't understand why they fit them, they must be more expensive than a simple d-ring!

Having now got one, I too couldn't go without the sun visor - its ace.

You spoke about the curved bottom to the visor - Shuberth let you take out the sun visor and re-insert it upside down if you prefer a straight edge, so you can set it up the way you prefer.

Saw some decent priced Uvex helmets at http://www.louis.de but no recent sharp ratings...

Good luck in your search (was going to say quest... lol )

I bought the AGV S4 SV yesterday and all seems well so far - the head fit is good and I am now in a large rather than the XL Caberg. The cheek pads are a bit hamstering (is that a word?) but they will ease with a few wears. The wind noise is quite a bit lower too, so all in all I'm pretty pleased... I don't really have a view regarding double-d rings or ratchets. I can spot a well-filled double-d cup though...
