Hi there,
been a while since I posted but does anyone know if it's possible to convert the front end of a K2 Strom to take the better screen from a K4 onwards (DL1000)? Only asking cos I's getting fed up with trying new screens etc all the time, and It's costing me a bloody fortune! (not
). I'm 6'4''but am long bodied so even the MRA VArio gives me a face full of wind (!!!) :wtf:

sadly, it seems madstad brackets only fit K4 onwards, I was going to say it might be the way forward! I have a feeling that some self-fabrication may be in order if you want to update your screen to something newer

I had a look at the parts catalogue to see if it would be possible to fit the newer front assembly to the older bike to give the later style screen mountings. The cowling around the headlights, the plastic bits around the speedo cluster and the frame that it all mounts to are the primary differences. The plastic bit at the bottom of the lights with the triangular holes in is the same. With a bit of effort I think you can fit a new front to the bike if you can get hold of the whole front assembly from a newer Vee (you might not need the speedo.) The indicators on the old model is different too, I don't know if the connections are different, but it shouldn't be much trouble changing them. Your best bet is to get a new bike side by side with yours and check everything you can to see where the differences and what exactly you will need. Pay special attention to the speedo cluster connections. Whether it will be worth the money and trouble is probably worth looking into before deciding to do it
