Very nice too!!

I have asked the current Mrs Piglumps if she'd like to learn to ride but it's a flat 'NO'.

However even if she did a Wee wouldn't be any good as she's 5'2" and six stone soaking wet......
No bike at present.......

Lower the seat, drop the suspension and by her some New Rock boots ..................... that should sort the problem out !

They're both great fun in their own individual ways !
Round town the 650 wins by a mile, it's power is more useable and the economy makes it good for the journey to work.
My only complaint is that it seems to have more vibration as you accelerate through the gears.
The 1000 is much more of an open road tool, it's a real mile muncher and the comfort combined with the power means I only need to take a break when it's time to "fill her up". We did a trip back from Cornwall with only a single stop for gas that took about 10 minutes (had to have a fag at the same time   , (not while filling them up)). Total journy time, about 4 1/2 hours, I got off feeling as fresh as a daisy. The wife, on the same trip, said the vibrations from traveling at 75-80 mph for extended periods, had sent her hands and feet numb.
When we are touring together the 1000 takes the heavier gear leaving the 650 more evenly matched, I'm also considerably heavier than the missus so the extra power comes in handy.
We always thought we would buy a BMW adventure and a gs 850 but after test rides and considering the vast price difference we think we made the perfect choice of bikes.
Plus the fact that V-strom riders seem less anally retentive than BMW users  lol  lol  lol
