Bullson Boots
« on: October 01, 2010, 16:08:35 »
I recently bought a pair of Bullson Lace Up Boots (shorter calf Length)

The first pair leaked and one of the eylets came off. The second pair I had as a replacement were no better, they didn't even make it out of the door before an eyelt had come adrift again.

Needless to say I went back to Hein Gericke for my money. To happen once is unlucky but for the second pair to fail straight away is shoddy.   ###

I've heard a fair few complaints about Bullson boots, but I have a pair and so far so good *touches wood* Mine are the ones with that close with Velcro. They've always been completely waterproof and very comfy,. They've given the needed protection when I had an off, only had a blue toe nail to show for it. Recently they are letting in a bit of moisture when it rains heavily, I think a good clean and a polish will sort that out. I've had them for more than a year and short of some £300 Daytona boots I haven't found any other boots that fit so well and would do the job. That said, if I had two pairs with issues like you did I'd also want a refund, having to return things for replacement is a waste of the precious little free time I have nowadays.

I've got a pair of the zip up Bullson's (two zips up the front, sheltex lining).

Due to a DVT a few years back, my left calf is just under 20" round. My left ankle is around 50% biggerthan my right too...Anyhoo, the upshot of that is that I normally can't get any boots to fit me - I can get them on, but not do them up. These were the only pair in over 7 bike shops that fitted. Just as well they've been brill. 3 years old now, still totally waterproof. My only criticism is that they are a bit cold on chilly days after a couple of hours riding.

I did think I'd have to get boots made for me, or just carry on using Dr Martens finest as I had since first wobbling out of the showroom on a CM125 in 1983.
