Greetings from North Wales
« on: January 11, 2026, 21:34:38 »
Hello, I’m considering a most likely gen 1 V Strom 650 as a replacement for my much loved 1996 XJ900 Diversion that I recently sold after six years ownership because I felt the need for a change and for something lighter. A CB500X is also being considered so my joint this group is to research and learn from owners what they love about the model. I’d be interested to meet up with anyone local to Llandudno to have a look at their bike, maybe have a sit on it and hear views.
Ta in advance

This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.

Welcome,
I would also take a look at the NC750X , a great engine that will also last forever , and has screw and lock nut valve clearances.... :icon_wink:

Hello AlaHack57 and  :welcome2:. Why not visit your local Suzuki dealer and ask for a test ride on a V-Strom, I know it won't be the Gen1 but they really are not massively different to the new ones?  :thumb:

Thanks to all the greetings from far and wide.
Since my post last week I have today taken delivery of a 2006 Wee in blue, just short of 36,000 miles and I’m very excited about it - my wife thinks ‘he’ should be known as Victor Wee Strom !!
