New bike
« on: December 28, 2025, 19:42:06 »
Hi all

Previous member and owner of a 2012 Suzuki DL650 which I sold a couple of years ago.
I now have a 2018 Suzuki DL1000 v-strom and can't wait to toure Europe on it next year.
I would like to purchase a used set of pannier frames if anyone has any for sale.

Welcome back to Stromming, Simes.
If you can't find anything used, take a look at the Shad pannier system, especially the unobtrusive 3P frames. They're very good value.

Hello and  :wb: Plenty of time to get your bike ready for Europe. Enjoy.

I just got a 1050 before Christmas for Europe next year, getting her ready and really enjoying the new to me bike, mine came with SW Motech panniers, so far I have fitted a little 42 litre Chinese top box which is fine for everyday use and I may just stick with it for the Summer, Givi air flow screen should be here soon to cure the wind blast I'm getting, also lowering the foot pegs.

This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.
