Strange But True
« on: November 12, 2025, 14:07:21 »
I had an operation over a year ago and since then found it hard to empty my bowl fully when having a poo. Just now (while having a poo) I remembered a doctor on TV saying that the way Arabs poo crouching down and pooing in a hole is more natural than the toilets we use in the West.

I realised just now that I had a new pack of toilet rolls that was almost the same hight as the loo and if I put my feet on it while sitting down I was in a similar position to a crouch. It worked! I hope this information is of some use to somebody.  :thumb:

With all respect I hope you don't get any 'likes' for that.  :icon_no:
So how's it going so far then?

Brilliant, cheers!
Next time I go for a poo, I'm going to ask my missus to get on fours so I can put my feet up for the same effect.

It's all true there are books about it!
Although I do think that involving your other half is a reckless (but effective) way to empty your bowel.
Me ..... I have a machine mart catalogue and an Ogri book by the loo and just wait for nature to take its course ........

Pass the bucket.
At least it's better than the old French bogs, standing up in the crapper is just wrong.

The first time we went to France the toilets were just a hole in the floor in a cubicle with 2 marked areas to put your feet on.My missus could not stop laughing 😂.
Then to top it all there was a gents loo in town and you could see over the sides when you were having a pee,and others could see you also.😂

Ianmc. The French are strange. I was in Paris in about 1978 and not only could you see over the top but from the entrance you could see in. I'm talking about a busy street in central Paris. I'm guessing you could walk down the high street with your willy hanging out and nobody would be offended.
I was with my ex wife and we intended staying for three weeks but left after three days and went to the Mosel Valley instead. I've never been back to Paris, I've been to France since though, lovely country.
Having said that, I love England but hate London.  :thumb:

There were "Turkish toilets" everywhere we went in France in the late 60s and early 70s. Not so many recently.
And in 1970 all over Greece, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Tried a "squat and go" toilet once, never again... there's nowhere to lean the newspaper when doing the crossword
