DE/RE 800 Fuse Box type and location ?
« on: November 02, 2025, 11:44:42 »
Good morning, anybody fitted heated grip, spot lights, Sat Nav and the like on the new 800 ? Where did you locate the power source (s) and did you fit a fuse box what type and where is it located please ? Seen on a US site one switched power source under front screen body work and one towards rear of bike under seat ?
Cheers,

Any info/experience will be much appreciated Thank you
WM.

I'm a fan of the Oxford Power supply, dead easy to install and you then have power for up to 4 items without cluttering the battery. Here's a picture of the one on my tranny (which now has three of the ways used) -

It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'

Take a look at the Healtec Thunderbox for an easy installation.

I’ve got one fitted to my 1050XT for my satnav, auxiliary lights, Dashcam and usb / type C and voltage meter socket.

Works perfectly.👍

I had my dealer install Oxford heated grips, non-OEM aux lights, and Innov dashcam to my 800RE. Alas, they didn't use a Thunderbox or similar and it's a real mess of wires...

Sorry to hear that Sir Trev.

Now I’ve discovered the Thunderbox, I’m happy to do all my electrical add ons myself…… and I don’t normally like messing with anything electrical.

This is the setup under the seat of my 800RE.
Both units are from bigpie, one of our members on here.
The one on the left has the ignition switched relay fitted on it & powers the spots, Sat Nav, camera, etc. The one on the right (special order from bigpie  :thumb:) is permanently live (no relay) & powers the optimate lead, heated clothing & the USB you see there. (I use that for charging the comms overnight.)
I used the 'spare' switched connector that is behind that panel at the back. A bit awkward to get out, it's got a fastener pinning it down, but can be done without removing anything.  :)
