Some pictures from Altea
« on: October 09, 2025, 09:53:57 »
Just a few pictures we took from out recent trip to Altea with the wine group. Great fun and the week just flew over...

Pic 1 - The view from our hotel room (Hotel Cap Negret, recommended)
Pic 2 - An art installation made from old electrical insulators
Pic 3 - The tunnels under Denier Castle which were used as Spanish civil war bomb shelters
Pic 4 - View from the front of the hotel approaching sunset
Pic 5 - The view at the hill town of Guadalest (well worth a visit)
Pic 6 - The cellars at Enrique Mendoza winery
Pic 7 - The tasting collection we got on the day, all very good but some even better than others!
Pic 8 - The shop at Enrique Mendoza wines, I tried to catch it when it was empty but two of our eager group beat me to it...

Ah, for people you needed to go to Benidorm for a few hours... The tram system runs from Alicante to Denier (you have to change at Benidorm though) and we had a stop at Cap Negret just 5 mins walk from the hotel. Very inexpensive way to travel and fully airconditioned, the only downside is one train an hour.
