Hi there!
« on: September 22, 2025, 20:00:18 »
Hi all, on a bit of a recon mission as I'm on the edge of picking up an incredibly cheap 2003 1000 Vstrom.
Hoping to find out all the things I should look at servicing or replacing before I start riding it.
My previous bike (Triumph Sprint 1050) was stolen back in July so really itching to get going again!

I live on the south coast in the New Forest, but originally from Wales, just by coincidence my mum has a smallholding just down the road from your campsite!

Cheers!

Sound bikes with even basic maintenance.
Mechanically very solid but electrics can become gremlin infested, especially if it's lived a lot of those years out of doors. If it all works when you check it though then most issues can be headed off at the pass.
Good luck with it.

This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.
