Well, that was weird!
« on: September 07, 2025, 15:27:10 »
Just had the panic alert on my phone. Worked fine. Odd thing, I heard it through my hearing aids about 30 seconds before 3pm.

It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'

The hearing aids weren't connected to the phone, the phone's blootoof wasn't even on. Odd.

I think it said this morning it would be sent as 'emergency' and no need to be connected other than have your phone turned on.......?

Do try and keep up!

 :icon_wink:
So how's it going so far then?

I'm just surprised. My hearing aids are not a mobile phone. They weren't connected to my phone. They picked up 'the signal' however it was transmitted, totally independently from my phone, and earlier than my phone? That's the bit I found surprising. Where does 'keeping up' come in?

Never heard a thing.. but that’s one of the benefits of not carrying a phone about all the time 😃
I’ve had enough of ‘devices’ listening in and ‘relevant things’ popping up in search tools without ever having searched for em, never mind blanket messages overriding hearing aids 😃
Jeez, I sound like some conspiracy theorist prepper.. wonder if a CB Radio will now pop up in Google.. 😜

Rusty - I have heard about radio signals being picked up on devices such as toasters so given that a hearing aid is wiring and an amplifier it is reasonable to find it is susceptible to other radio interference. Looking on the 'brightside',  in future, you may be given and extra 30 seconds to run away from whatever catastophic event that is about to occur.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.
