800re screen recommendation
« on: July 24, 2025, 11:40:06 »
Hi all. What screen would you recommend on the RE please. I am 5ft 8 , the standard screen doesn't work for me and neither has an MRA screen! Thanks

Have you tried one of these on the OEM or the MRA?

Works great for me & just as good, maybe better than the Givi Airflow I had on the 650.  :)
Plus, it's cheap enough to try before you spend a lot on anything else.
I initially had it on the 'touring screen', which is a little higher than the standard, I tried it on the standard & it's even better.
Photo to show how I have it fitted. It didn't take much to sort it, but may need a few adjustments to get it right.

Mine didn't come with instructions but it does fit together easily enough, was you get the idea.
I've marked on this photo where I've wrapped a bit of tape around the fastening because after a few months I noticed it was coming loose.
It's only £12 & I didn't expect that much from it, but that does seem to be a weak point.  :thumb:

I angled the stock screen on my RE with 10mm spacers on the bottom mounting points (and longer bolts). Having the top of the screen a bit closer to me reduced the buffeting a fair bit, although 20mm may well be even better. Very cheap mod to try.

Thanks Trev. I will try that as well. I have also been thinking that at least part of the problem is the ( non) angle of the screen. Where did you get the spacers and bolts?

A member on Stromtrooper made a 3-D printed spacer for his DL800 DE screen that he now sells, https://www.stromtrooper.com/threads/any-further-opinions-on-dl800-Windscreen -windscreen-options.445172/page-4?post_id=5763146#post-5763146

If you have access to a 3-D printer, you could either try to simulate a similar spacer or else perhaps place an order with that StromTooper member.
