Healtech Thunderbox problem

I installed a Thunderbox on the Guerrilla and on the Trident. Each one is used to supply a Garmin satnav mount. One of the mounts is new. In use on the Guerrilla the satnav frequently lost and regained power. I swapped the Satnav to the Trident and it suffered the same power fluctuations.  I placed the the satnav on the V7 which is fed via DIY ignition triggered relay and it maintained a good connection and power remained on.  I suspect the Thunderbox is detecting a drop in voltage as the alternator on the Trident and on the Guerrilla produces less voltage as the revs drop.  Has anyone else used the Thunderbox and had a similar problem.

Hmm, not had one , but you could be right about voltage drop Brockett.
Have you had a look at the status light on the TB when it shuts off the Sat Nav to confirm  ?
Also, do the 2 bikes fitted with the TB get used less often, how are their batteries? slightly weak ?
Disconnecting the TB from battery for 5 secs will act as a reset for it , may be worth a try.
Also it can be connected by the white wire to a switched source and then used as a  normal relay box, an option , but that kind of defeats the purpose of easy install

As Nigel says, connect the white wire to a switched power source & see if the Sat Nav stays powered like that, on both bikes. (a temporary connection will do for testing purposes)
All I can say is, that if both bikes start OK on the batteries but the TB is switching off because they are dropping in power by point something of a volt, then they sound a little sensitive?

My mate's started to get similar issues on his 1200GS, it'll just switch off for no apparent reason ?

As a test rig I have connected the switched white wire to the battery charge lead positive. Having checked that it works as a switched wire,  I will test ride the Guerrilla and if the satnav stays powered I will have found the problem. However, these things are not cheap and I only bought them to save/avoid the hassle of finding a switched wire to tap into. I'll post the results.
