Solar panel scam - a warning
« on: June 14, 2025, 17:23:59 »
Here's a 'heads up' to all of you that have solar PV panels fitted. To those of you that haven't - what's wrong with you?

A group calling themselves the “Green Homes Scheme” is claiming to offer a £4,000 grant and a 10p increase to your Feed-in Tariff payments if you use them to upgrade your solar panels.

They send a letter addressed to ‘The Homeowner’ that looks similar to official government communications.

This is not a genuine offer. It is a scam that’s been flagged by lots of impacted customers on Trustpilot. Feed-in-Tariff rates are set by the government and cannot be increased through any other means and any changes to your system will impact your ability to claim Feed-in-Tariff payments.

Here’s how to spot the scam:

You are contacted out of the blue, via a letter to ‘The Homeowner’

The organisation’s contact details are unclear or vague

You’re pressured to act quickly

Beware, there are lots of unscrupulous people out there and this could affect you for many years...
It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'
