Anyone know how to get rust stains out of paving ?
« on: June 12, 2025, 10:52:17 »
A long shot I know, but does anyone know how to get rust stains out of a paving slab ? We had a metal planter which has been rusting away on our front door step. Due to the foliage etc, we hadn't realised just how rusty it had got underneath. It looks a bit grim, so any ideas would be gratefully received. Powerwashing has not made a blind bit of difference...

You need something acid based such as https://www.screwfix.com/p/scrubb-brick-patio-cleaner-5ltr/173VE
Any motorcyclist will know of life's risks, but read the leaflet and wear PPE, gloves, eye protection.
Good luck.

So, a quick nip over to Screwfix at Ashington, a splash of brick & patio cleaner, wait ten minuets and hose it off. Very pleased with the results (should have done a before, but it was grim) and it's not bad for a first attempt. I shall give it another splash when I get a chance. I'm now dealing with a wasps nest above the door now...
