Seat modifications.

Just recently I required my 800RE seat modifying. I contacted a chap known on this site, a few years ago, who has been recommended by many for doing a good job.
He took a little while to get a date sorted, but Christmas, New Year & a house move got in his way. However once the date was confirmed I posted the seat off to him & it was returned 7 days later.
I required comfort foam for rider & pillion, plus the pillion area raising 50mm. He also widened both sections & flattened the riders area out a little. The cost included a new non slip cover also.
I had a Top Sellerie seat on the 650 for a couple of years but the comfort of this modified seat is better.
Total price including return postage was £140. (bargain)

Posh perch, Mick. Did the original front section slope towards the tank like the glee? When Tony did mine he levelled it up, stopped me sliding forward.

MisterDavey, I don't know what foam was used but along with the other little adjustments its very comfortable.

Doc, this is the best I've got at the moment, from the side, with the new seat & panniers on.

Martyn, this is the original seat & yes there was a definite slope that pushed/slid you forward. Tony did level it out & widened it as much as the base allowed.

He is a decent bloke to speak to & very helpful. He is a Yorkshireman though, so difficult to understand!

I spoke to Tony archer today and he said he’s retired now.
Do you blokes have anyone else to recommend doing a similar job as the one Mick has?

I have done a few myself, not that hard to modify the foam but the cover is the tricky bit. Especially if you change the shape a lot meaning the old cover will not work any more and the new cover needs different shapes stitching together.
As I am in the boat trade I use our subby Marine upholsterers. Most of the ones we use also do bike/car work.
Maybe try a few near you  , if nothing else turns up

A local tyre service said he's only got a limited stock of motorcycle tyres so I should try "Black Circles" for the Michelin classics to fit my V7 and he would fit them to loose wheels for £25 per loose wheel. I went home and ordered the tyres yesterday afternoon and they were delivered today.
