Bit of a storm due in tonight especially in the west. I wish you all well.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.

Thank you Brockett. As long as a falling tree doesn't crush my my bike I'll be happy.  :). It will soon be summer.  :sunny:

It's been a bit breezy overnight.

I'm in Weston-s-Mare, on the Bristol channel and 'lucky me' at the top of a hill.

I won't know if any of the garden furniture has departed (it's happened before) or the shed is still in the back garden until it gets light.
The older I get, the better I was.

I’m in Weston-super-Mare, less than a mile from the seafront, on a hill…..

Lost 4 fence panels so far, and our 30 year old pergola, which has been used as a back drop to many a family photo, is damaged. Looks like it will have to come down. Too dodgy to go out and have a proper look at the moment.

My neighbour has lost all is new fence that was only put up a couple of months ago.🤷‍♂️

I didn’t have too much on next week, so I know what I’ll be doing now.🤦‍♂️

Living half a mile back from the beach I've gained about a half tonne of sand blasted at the house, aquired a kids pop up football goal, but my wheelie bin fell over in the night and woke me up.

I’ve just been out to inspect the damage. Panels may be salvageable. 🤞

Pergola will have to come down.

And my lawn is splattered with shards of my next door neighbours stone wall…. See photo.

The wind has been howling here on the edge of Dartmoor all night. It's 2:40pm now and showing little signs of easing. There are a few medium size branches down but the tree that we wanted and expected to fall is still standing.

Luckily nothing landed on the bike, car or shed (so far) and I put that down to sleeping with my fingers crossed. I hope it all dies down soon.  :thumb:

We have two horses that live on the other side of Weston in a village called Hutton. We can see the Bristol channel from the top of the sloping field.

My 4 wheel horse trailer is parked right at the bottom of our field, with its arse end into yesterdays wind, jockey wheel down and the bakes off.

The wind pushed it forwards by about 18 inches, and I think it was only the wheel clamp contacting the mudguard that stopped it going further.

Hope the horses are OK NeilM.

The wind here on the East Anglian Coast has been stiff, loads of rain, no more really  ..Lucky.

I was a Pig farmer in '87 when Micheal Fishes "hurricane " hit.
Slept through it all , got on my GS 550E and rode to work not realising anything had happened ( no internet / mobiles back then ). I was the only one to get to the farm due to being able to drag the GS under 2 fallen trees blocking the road.
As I rode in to the farm gate I checked out the bosses double garage..looked OK.. we later found the  angled back flat roof had been flipped over ...but not a scratch on either car
We also found full size round bales that had got rolling fast enough to end up down a slight slope, crossing a small ditch ending up in the next field....Damn.

Ho Hum

Had to go shopping in the car today. When I got home and reversed onto the drive (as I always do) I heard something hit my car. I had reversed onto a 6" log end on (dirty windows, mirrors and reverse camera) and it flew up and hit the bottom of the bumper. It's left a tiny scratch that is hardly noticeable unless down on your knees. I hope that is going to be the extent of the damage from this blasted storm.  :thumb:

The horses are fine thanks Nigel.

They live out, and as my chap Harry is 23, he's seen it all before.

Turns out it was not the mudguard that stopped the trailer rolling. The back of the wheel clamp was jammed hard against the leaf spring. If that had not happened, goodness knows how far the trailer would have travelled.

Back where it belongs now.

My 88 year old parents skipped church yesterday. This was in their way.
Any excuse.
