New BSA For 2025
« on: December 01, 2024, 22:11:09 »
Has anybody noticed this yet? I test rode the new BSA back in the summer and didn't like it very much but for looks alone, I think this 2025 bike looks very nice.  :auto-dirtbike: :thumb:

I hadn't noticed it Dr.
I would think it's chalk and cheese for most folk.
If you liked the previous offering you probably wouldn't like this.
I know I'm strange, I like em both but probably prefer this.
Thanks for posting.

It looks very similar to this -

Perhaps 2025 is the year of the 1960's scrambler ?

It's not so much the beak but only half a front mudguard, what's that all about? A lot of us fit mudguard extensions but it seems that on this bike a complete mudguard would have to be fitted in order to keep the mud off.

I understand that a lot of mud would build up under a close fitting guard but lets face it, most of them won't see the quantity of mud required for that to happen. The front mudguard is the only thing I don't like about the looks.  I think a full but high mudguard would look better (like on a motocross bike) and work in all situations.

As for the beak. Fashion darling and I think Suzuki started it.  :smirk:  :thumb:

I guess it has the low mounted guard to protect the engine/exhaust etc under normal road use (99%+ of owners) and then the high mount one is for looks.
The 1% who might green lane it can just unbolt the lower one and they're set for mud plugging.
Sat on it at the show, felt decent.

Is this one still Indian made?
Mahindra announced plans for a UK factory way back, but don't know if things have since happened on the ground.
Mind you, it could be bolted together here from imported parts in the same way Mutt Motorcycles are apparently 'British made'.
I like the looks of it at any rate. (And wherever its made surely the reliability can't be as poor as Brit-made 60s bikes)!

Ask existing BSA Gold Star owners about reliability.

The engine is Rotax and they have a very good reputation, but there have been all sorts of electrical issues with the bikes and other issues with dealers and distributors.

But it is a nice looking retro.

Looks like the contractor who made the wiring loom found a way to same some cash by making it a few inches too short. But then look at the hidden booby traps that Suzuki's contactors managed to weave into the wiring over the years and we'll not mention the corrosion prone connectors under the Strom's tank. If BSA/ Mahindra fix the problems within four years they will still be fifteen years ahead of Suzuki. I am not "having a go" at Suzuki as customer communication seems to be a universal problem to all manufacturers. They employ customer service companies who's job it is to fob off any adverse comments and complaints. The manufacturers never get to know why their business is going down the toilet until it is too late. In 2012 I wrote to Rev'it to congratulate them on the quality of their textile trousers and the armour that was fitted which was tested during a 60 mph dismount. Their "customer service department" wrote a long semi-legal letter disputing my statement and insisting that they were "not in any way responsible."
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.
