Those of us who pay attention to 'science for the public' know only too well that global warming is an ever increasing fact. So when that Yorkshire twit moans about the rainfall and ignorantly concludes the world is not warming up but is just getting wetter, I in my overly smug hat recall the prediction that global warming will heat the oceans and the air above causing increasing evaporation and, knowing that what goes up, must surely come down, increased rainfall. If the last 12 months haven't convinced the post truth reality doubters then nothing will. Reflect if you will the design of the early sixties Honda motorcycles and in particular the shape of the mudguards. Yes they were big with the fronts looking like elongated 1st century Roman army head wear. Maybe that's because Japan has historically had high(is) rainfall. Large landmasses tend to become drier and drier towards their centres because all the moist air dumps it's contents on the first available high ground that it passes over. Also explains why Western UK is a tad wetter than Eastern UK. So what does all this waste of ink and your time lead up to? Motorcycling will get progressively difficult and we will all need much better weatherproof clothing and much bigger and really effective mudguards. And when was the last time you saw another road vehicle with exposed suspension. Good grief! only a motorcyclists would think that is a good idea.
