I haven't done much today but just received a phone call  from the hospital informing me of the date for my spinal operation.

I've been in constant pain for more years than I can remember and prevented from doing many of the things I long to do, touring Europe (or some of it) on my motorbike being one of them. I pray I can do that this summer. The op is 14th March so I expect to be Tramadol and Pregabalin free and ready to go by June. Fingers crossed.  :lala: :lala: :lala:  :thumb:

I'm in the same situation, but haven't had the bottle to go for the op.
Really hoping it works well for you Doc.

Simon. My advise, if you decide to go for it, is to make a bit of a nuisance of yourself with all the doctors you see. I hate do do that or be a nuisance to anybody but (sadly) that's what I had to do after too many years of waiting.  :thumb:

Fingers crossed it works for you Doc  :thumb: My best man had a huge spinal operation 5 years ago, he's gone from being barely able to walk unaided to barely able to keep off a golf course ! 10 mile walk ? No bother and how about a bit of rock climbing along the way ? A complete transformation and I wish you every success.

Good luck Doc, sounds bloody horrible but it's probably bloody horrible anyhows. On the subject of what I've done today.
Got up and baked Croissants. Yum.
Went upt' co-op for some'at or t'other.
Changed the motor in the Dyson DC14. The youtube video was 12 minutes long, how come it took me 3 hours. But the new motor has fixed it, £38 delivered. It's sucking like a gud'one.
Now eating a Blueberry and Pecan muffin that Er'Indoors has baked.
I'm doing nowt else.
Upt.

Boiler went boobs up….. no heating or hot water. 🥶

Plumber came around within a couple of hours….. on his day off, but he was nearby. Replacement arranged for the week after next, when I return from up north.

Not much change out of £3k….. that’s just for a straight swap.🙁

Just did ours Phil, from a Baxi to a Worcester-bosch heat only, no regrets, except for the bank balance.
Pffffffftttttt.
Edit...it would seem that 10 years is about the change point now for boilers, they don't make them like they used to.

Upt North…… my old Vaillant was 20 years old.🤷‍♂️ It had been a loyal servant over the years, but uneconomical to spend the repair cost. Recently had a new motherboard but this time the thermal fuse had blown. This fuse is not a replaceable item, it would have been a new heat exchanger.

Replacing it with a Glow-worm, same as the plumber just fitted to his own house.👍

I am in the same boat last week our boiler ( we are out in the sticks so no gas so oil combination boiler )
Stoped working my plumber almost lives opposite, he has been keeping it going for us by replacing the parts as and when needed. He got it going again for us but said this is getting like Triggers Broom !!!! lol
He has given us a price for a new one £3200 plus fitting. The replacement will be a Grant and the old one is a Bosch Worcester Greenslave it’s 18 years old.

Bought a new turntable.. a Denon (Chinese made though obvs).
Nothing terribly flash/expensive, but does the job 👍
Had to re-learn how to balance a Tonearm too.. 🤔
(Mostly) still playing the same old ‘musak’ however..
First up were a bit of an odd mix, ELO, Fleetwood Mac, Dead Kennedys, U2, and a soundtrack compilation from Guardians of the Galaxy, (I’ve not seen the film but they chose decent tracks).
Only problem is, now I’m thinking about adding new speakers.. 🔊😁
Pronouns- ‘was’ / ‘has been’
