replacement Givi Top case key
« on: March 13, 2023, 12:57:13 »
I have misplaced one of the keys to my top case.
If GIVI can provide this service I couldn't find it.
I contacted a company called KEY2CODE to order a replacement.
I was asked to upload a photo of the existing key and the total cost was £16.98.
Just over a week later the key arrived in the post and it works.
Now I'm thinking I should have ordered two.

The GIVI/Kappa keys, or at least the the standard old type keys are stamped with a 3 digit code.
If you have the code they can be cut, but you have to have the patterns for the keys.

When one of the lads locked his keys in his topbox in the dealers we used the tub of spare keys and all the keys from the display boxes and found one that was close enough to the original to open the box.

You can get replacement lock barrel and keys sets and keyed alike packs of 1, 2, 3 and 5 barrel/key sets.
I bought a set of 5, I wanted 6 but they don't do more than 5 - for my 3 pannier sets, but at least 2 sets of panniers are the same keys now and I was going to key our top boxes alike, but the security key barrels are a fair bit more.

If you know the number of the lock / key you may be able to get a duplicate by quoting the number. A photo is only required when that key code is not held in the database.
These keys are not GIVI keys and are not supplied by GIVI

They may be this type of key, there are plenty of sellers on eBay selling compatible keys: https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=41944.msg431845

As others have said, you don't need to get a "Givi" key.
