Where to look.. 2014 1000
« on: July 17, 2022, 10:05:40 »
So.. seems a mixed bag on here as to what to fit.. plenty like the added dirt ability.  I shall never take it near dirt to ride so carparks are about as Leary off road as it gets..
It's been a while since I purchased bike tyre so at a bit of a loss as to where has decent deals.. Demon Tweeks seem to be a good starting point.  But would end up fitting them myself.. (that's also been a long time) so any suggestions would help..
Also seems a lot of the options are out of stock so limited to what's available..
So far.. on the list..
Avon Storm 3D (got them on my 'Dero and like them a lot wet and dry)
Metzler Tourance Next 2??
Metzler road tech 02??
Anakee 3 (seems some say wet grip isn't as good as other options)
Bridgestone A41
Poss Avon trailrider as they seem to be liked all round here..
Seems BT23 s can be picked up still, plus a few others
Haven't found PR5 available though..
I ride spiritedly, prefer confidence in the wet, decent life.. will be quite a bit of distance riding..
Cheers

Never tried the Avon's on any bike but if you liked them on the Honda  give them a try.
I've used the a40, 41's but wasn't a fan as there stiff side walled, then moved the the pr3, 4 and 5's. Liked them all but mileage is short. More a day weather rider now so going to try something different next time, tourance 2 or scorpion 2's maybe.

Continental T/A 3 here, decent grip in wet or dry (brilliant in the dry) and seem to be wearing very well compared to my previous Roadsmart 3's. They have done just under 5.5k, fronts still have the "attack" moulding in the tread, rear down to 4mm in the center. I would certainly buy again.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Last time I put tyres on a bike was when I lived on the IOM... And they were a set of ex proddy racer Dunlop super sports or something.. I left the IOM in 2004...
The 'dero had a virtually new pair of Avon's on it when I got it 3.5 years ago..

Ah.. forgot about the Conti's.. seen them for sensible price too..
