Anyone been on europe tour recently?
« on: June 16, 2022, 07:55:20 »
I was wondering if anyone had been through France and Spain recently? Just wondering about covid restrictions at borders, especially on the alps passes. Do unvaccinated need to show negative tests going from France to Spain to Italy etc? Any advice would be great help.

I got back last Wednesday from France. I'd printed off my NHS Covid jab history from the NHS website but the border police at Dieppe weren't interested in them at all. Apart from that everything over there seemed to be the same except for the constant variation in speed limits, especially around towns and villages. Those 30 KPH zones are a killer to try and adhere to.

Got back from Spain/Portugal last week. Had to show covid proof on way in, but not at Portuguese or French border. Some shops in Portugal still insisted on masks, but not restaurants even when waiters still wearing them.
You'll never find yourself flying down the road wishing you were wearing less protective clothing.

Is that proof "on the way back in" to Blighty or Spain?

Now we've 'taken back control of our borders'  there's no proof of anything needed to come into the UK:

Currently in the mountains of Georgia, I left 5 weeks ago.
France, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia.
The ferry people at Newhaven gave my Covid Pass a quick look - and its been in the packet of papers ever since..

I'm out in France at the mo...Tom Tom thrilling rides in the Ardennes area...Forests Lakes undulating back lanes tractor tracks and shingle Bridleways...no one about mile after mile of biking nirvana. No police, no UK angry twat drivers, 38 degrees yesterday (too hot) no data sharing of ownership details via DVLA so static cameras aren't an issue...I don't take the piss in villages but not circa 20mph. Had a great time using B&B and Hotels. Will be back out again in August....Ardennes again for sure like a mini Vosges. Covid no issues...weren't interested at border or in Belgium...no problems last year either. Glad to be away from the over crowded and overpriced dump the UK has become.
