bridgestone A40 V A41

I have the A41 on my 1050Xt (second set) and find them good with no heart in the mouth incidents. When looking at the review comparing the A40 against the A41 , the A41 come out much better. I think that's always the case when a new tyre replaces the old model. However I see that M@P are selling a SET of the A40 for £113. So I have read the reviews of the A40 when they came out in 2015. And low and behold they have great wet weather and dry weather grip. Can anyone who has used both these tyres honestly say that they noticed a big difference ?

They are the same compound- that's out of the mouth of the bridgestone rep.

They changed the tread pattern to differentiate them from the A40 as they were bringing out a wider range of sizes and didn't want them confused.

The Touring T30 and T31 are again the same compound with different tread patterns.
Both aren't as good for grip or life span as the outgoing BT-023 - but that's why they want the BT-023 gone - they last too long and we don't buy enough tyres!

Afraid I have to disagree with MuffDiver on BT-023's lasting longer than A40 or A41's. I've just put 4,500miles on a set of BT-023's found them very confidence inspiring, but there is now a noticeable step on the rear where the compound changes. I reckon another 500 to 1,000miles will see the rear off. Two set of both the A40's and A41's went between 5,740 and 7,126 miles but didn't see the same wear pattern. Loved the BT-023's but have just bought a pair of A40's as the price was too good to miss. A40's are a bit harsher ride than the A41's due to very stiff sidewalls.

The OP mentioned a review stating one was better than the other and then MR Diver quoted a rep saying they are the same compound. Which all goes to show the trust we should have in reviews.  Like a politicians promise ......

I’ve had the BT023’s on for the past two years, with admittedly low miles, but still don’t feel confident in them compared to Michelins I have used in the past. Will be changing them for RP4’s soon for peace of mind.

To be honest I never noticed any difference between the 40 or 41's I used. I disliked them both, to stiff a sidewall but at that price I could put up with it, maybe.
I changed to road 4's now the 5 which I like much much better but there short lived, especially the 5. Just bought an old Michelin pilot road 2 for the rear when the curtain 5 is done in another thousand miles (4k total) and see how it does.
