Thought I would share my experience with the Shoei ADV helmet after about 18 months of use.
First of all this is a Shoei and its an amazingly comfy helmet and obviously very well built. Even today after a clean and polish it looks brand new. Fits my large head with no sore spots etc but I am looking to replace it because I find it extremely bad in wet weather.
Each year myself and a couple of lads like to do trips in France last year when in Northern France we got caught in some real wet weather and the helmet was dangerous. Even with a pinlock the visor just never clears....even with all vents open and the visor cracked to let as much air in it just steams up to the point you can't see. So no w you are forced to open the visor more which now lets the rain come in from the top rendering it utter useless as an Adventure helmet.
Again I have no issues with build quality, comfort, shape etc....it just fails miserably when the rain starts. I feel very much ripped off after spending a huge some of money on this helmet.
You can even read my review on Sportsbike shop. I can only persume that the people giving it 5 stars haven't ridden it for prolonged periods in rain or think its normal for a helmet designed for adventure to steam up as bad as it does (though I have seen Youtube vids of adventure riders pointing out the issues I had)
SO be warned if you are a rider that travels in all weather I would seriously consider another helmet!
