Hi there,

I'm not quite an owner yet, but have been mulling over the purchase of a V-Strom for a long time now and took a 650 out for the day yesterday.  Very impressed.

Bit of background - I live in East Anglia, UK and have been riding for just over thirty years.  I'm lucky enough to own a few bikes.  I ride all year and my commute is around sixty miles per day round trip.  The V-Strom will be taking the brunt of that commute and after using one all day yesterday I'm confident that it will be well up to the job and a lot of fun too.

Now for the glum bit - for me anyway.  I had my heart set on a matt black 650x, but there are apparently no more new ones to be had.  the K9 models have just been announced by Suzuki at the same price, but the 'x' model now only comes in 'Candy Metallic Orange'.  Somehow, I don't really see myself as an orange bike kind of bloke.  The AK9 will be in grey or black but the dealer couldn't tell me if it was matt and I don't really want the abs anyway.

So for now I will spend a bit of time trying to find if any dealers have a matt K7x in the showroom before making a decision.  Bear with me, I may be back in a week or so.

Welcome Iggy. Have you tried George White in Swindon or Slough? According to the Interweb this morning they have '07 DL650Xgoing for £4499! 01793 716716

I took a 1000GT Strom out on a test ride from there - I can't remember the salesman's name but he was knowledgeable but not at all pushy.

a month ago picked mine up ......................................AND I LOVE HER !!
