A week in Ireland
« on: July 08, 2019, 19:22:08 »
Following on from our Spain/Portugal/Gibraltar trip last year Tigerman and I decided to return to Ireland to pick off more of the Wild Atlantic way this year. This time we headed for the middle section and decided to take a central base rather than packing up and moving on each day and this actually worked well for us.

Travelling from Yorkshire across to Hollyhead on day 1 allowed us to catch the early ferry to Dublin and make progress to our base on day 2 where we soon found our way around the small village and local pubs.

The base itself turned out to be really rather splendid Doonard Manor B&B https://goo.gl/maps/QCd1ds1aztm1TLMk9

Day 3 We awoke to the classic Irish weather we have grown to expect but we were prepared with the neccessarry clothing this time round!

We pushed on round the planned route but eventually gave up as it really was rather miserable and of course, waterproofs work well when worn right... and I failed with this!

More of this report to follow over the next few days....but I thought you would appreciate the footage of Tigerman having 'a rest' on one of the country lanes he had planned for the ride.

Nice Photos on the Facebook link. That is a lot more than 67 miles on your Day 2 ride from Dublin !

Excellent pictures as ever my Geordie chum, thank you for sharing.

Reference the video, is that why they call it "The Falls Road" coz Andy fell off?
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.
