Went to Northumberland for a short break last week. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too good, lots & lots of rain. We did manage one dry day on Tuesday and enjoyed a nice ride around the county. Didn't venture out at all on the Wednesday but Thursday the rain abated and became a steady drizzle so we risked a few miles up the coast.
Very nice area and hope to get back sometime in more favorable weather.  :thumb:

Hi

I concur I went up the A68 from Darlington to Jedburgh at Easter 25 degrees what a road best ever and the views breathtakingly beautiful I will be doing this again before the summer is out.

6 min video, this is on the B6357 in Scotland, north of Saughtree, before dropping into Kielder Forest Park. Apologies for the editing (or lack of) still trying to work it out!!

If heading up to Northumberland, can recommend the following route: Kirkby Lonsdale, Sedbergh, Kirkby Stephen, Brough, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Stanhope, Blanchland (Northumberland) - lovely village like stepping back in time - held in trust for many moons, same owners as Bamburgh Castle.
Some of the route is single track and broken surfaces, so take it steady and watch out for the mobile wooly jumpers.
You'll never find yourself flying down the road wishing you were wearing less protective clothing.

Nice pic's & nice video Mick, very familiar roads... I'm biased, mostly because I live in Northumberland but it has to be the best biking County in England. Great roads, stunning scenery, light traffic (excluding the A1) virtually no tourists and almost no police prescence ! What speed cameras there are are well marked and the odd camera van sticks to the main roads.

Warkworth Castle will be nice when it's finished too  :thumb:

Cracking route. Should also try to fit in the ride up Teesdale over Yad Moss to Alston then Hartside pass to Melmerby - classic.
