Vstrom 1000 2018 new tyres
« on: May 24, 2019, 15:28:28 »
About to replace my tyres ,the OE Battlewings didn't impress me, always had Metzler Tourance on my previous bikes ( many GSs)
Anyone any experience of them on the 1000 ?

I didn't think the Bridgestones were that bad, But if Tourance were good on all your GS's the strom won't be much different, I've used Anakee 2's on my 650 and loved them, and there's not much difference in tread pattern, and both will be noisy!

The Anakee2 are becoming had to find. The 3 are more road biased and people have said they hum more than the 2.

There is also a dramatic difference between the Bridgestone trail/battle wings and the newer A40/41.
I would never have the wings on my bike, but I'd happily put on another set of A41's.

Saying that I have a set of Tourance (original not nxt or exp) ready to go on the Varadero.

I've just fitted a pair of Avon Trail Riders. early days yet only done 80 miles on them. Didn't mind the original Bridgestones.

After 1500 kms, I feel too much better with Road 5 than BW's 501/502.
And, I'M m not a Michelin motorcycle tyres fan
