It's a little Axminster lathe, Chinese, but set up right it's OK, I have a big old British lathe, a myford,from a school, but need to get it up and running when I get a home for it built.

It's fun making stuff Paul,most of my bikes have phosphor bronze bushings in the handlebar levers, dead plush!

I made a few fancy gear stick knobs for mx5's, my lass loves the knob I gave her...she rubs it to a sheen every time she drives the car.
I have just got a little Excelsior consort, so more bits to make for that.

Joking aside I get the need for such machinery. My dad has a lathe and milling machine at his place. Once my garage is sorted they will be coming over to my house. The lathe is ancient and needs some rework. That will keep me out of trouble for a bit!

this place has by far, the most helpful members I have ever met. This thread is a testimony to that.

To be fair, even some of the nutters are quite good too.

The spacers Will be in the post(royal mail) today, anything else you need for the project will be a joy to make, just keep us updated on the build, most interesting to me at least.
Normally I can do a fast turn round on the bits, but in this instance I got held up by a never ending contract at work, I contract part time to tree maintenance companies, and got roped into a Leylandi hedge from hell, pouring rain and a 40 foot high, 300 yard long monstrosity to reduce in height and side trim...

Halfway in the client changed the specs....

Clients always change specs halfway in for me but I develop applications so it's no big deal. You can't make the hedge taller once cut and I get to stay inside when it rains or sit in the garden when it's sunny :D

My motor has cleared customs and should be with me in the next few days. I'm currently toying with either making a ghetto vacuum former or getting a 3D printer for part of this project.

I don't need anything else at the moment but if I do I'll know where to come. Thank you very much for making them.

That motor will sound a little better when it's pulling a load, sounds smooth though.
I'm looking forward to seeing it progress.

Forgot today, I bored the holes at about 15.5mm, in case you had a thread on the bolts, it often comes up about over,hope that's OK.
