Tip: Cardboard cold shield barrier worn under jacket
« on: April 09, 2017, 15:22:38 »
I went for a 275 mile ride through the So Calif desert recently and expected it to be warm and comfortable, so basically all I wore is my heavy bike jacket and regular pants and leather gloves. The further I drove towards Las Vegas the cooler and cooler it became. I drove over two 4,500+ feet mountains and by the time I got to Vegas I was shivering cold. This was a brief visit in Vegas to look at a truck, so I headed home in the early afternoon and dreaded the cold drive home. Then I got the idea of putting a couple of layers of cardboard under the front of my jacket. Viola! The cardboard acted as a nice cold barrier and I drove all the way home without feeling any cold on my chest, and no shivering when I got home.
