Swapsies anyone?
« on: December 05, 2016, 14:51:52 »
I have a Givi Airflow AF260 fitted to my K5 wee.....despite the glowing reports it gets on here I cannot get a setting to suit me (I`m a fat skinny tall bloke with a short body).  :icon_wink:
I have used it for one trip to Ireland so it is in real good nick apart from a small hole which I drilled at the top of the bottom blade for a small camera mount.

I would be willing to swap for another screen (possibly touring but open minded on that) which is in good condition.

If anyone is interested I could send photos if required

Regards Mick

I have a Cee Baileys touring screen, it's got a few scratches near the bracket fittings, they might buff out.

I would say that if the Givi isn't working for you then you most likely need to look at an adjustable bracket mounting system, but try removing your mirrors first as a quick test as it could be them.

I've got a hybrid screen which is made up from a Madstrad bracket, standard screen with the Givi adjustable top section mounted on it - works perfectly most of the time.

There is another bracket out there too, not just the Madstad but I can't remember the name.

Thanks for photos and info...I have tried all sorts with mirrors....extenders Aprilia ones and even removal but this does not solve problem......I perhaps misled a bit as I can actually get the Givi Airflow to eliminate buffering and lower wind noise but the top of the blade appears in my eyeline and I find that so distracting but thanks again.

Graham62 if you could send me a photo of Cee Baileys screen I would certainly consider it.

So it works fine but you can't see through it. To be clearer

With mine (setup as it is above) the screen is below my eyeline, probably by an inch or two.
I don't like the screen to be in my line of sight either so I wouldn't have stopped messing until it works like mine does now.
The only time it gets close to being in the way is when the mrs is on the back but if that happened more often I'd bother to adjust the screen again - that's the beauty of having that level of adjustment. :)

Hi  SagaLout, here's some pictures of the screen as I said it's a touring screen I used it with a madstsd bracket,so I could pitch it back and forward.

Hi Graham
Thanks for sending photo can you let me know how tall it is so that I can measure to see if it will be in my eyeline or not (sorry to be a pain).

HI Mick
From the top fixing hole to the top of the screen it's about 450mm.

Hi Graham
Thanks for taking trouble to do that...unfortunately that is too tall for me so I think I`ll live with bottom half of Givi for general use then put up with top half for longer trips...I think at some stage I will invest in an adjustable bracket which people seem to think will solve the problem...Thanks again

That's OK Mick, Madstad is the way forward. :thumb:
